THE HASTINGS PLANNING COMAJ/SSION - JUNE 5. 1968
No regular business was transacted ~h this meeting because a regular
quorum was not present.
l~nforrnally, it was decided that we would not hold a regular meeting in
the month of July.
The next meeting will be held 'on August 12, 1968. A notice of this
meeting will be mailed beforehand.
During an informal discussion with Mr. Hoclne, it was decided ~1~
we would tentatively accept the preliminary discussion plan ~h~t he has
prepared and that he would present at the August 12th meeting a preliminary
zoning area map.
TheoreticaLly, our "701" Community-wide Comprehensive Planni~S
Program should be completed by October 2, 1968.
Besides the revision of our Zoning and Subdivision regulations which
are a part of our comprehensive planning program, a review of past minutes
and correspondence reveals ~h~ the following proposals have to be resolved
soon:
]Preparation for eventual application for Urban l~enewal
Funds from the Federal Government - if it seems
desirable in the/uture - by recommending to the
council the various program necessary for adoption
in order to qualify for urban renewal.
A decision must be made as to whether or not Hastings
should own and maintain its own Municipal Airport.
A decision as to the type and location of "neighborhood"
style o~ commercial convenience centers.
4. A decision as to whether sidewalks should be required
throughout the city.
