HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/05/68 MI1TOTF.,5 OF THS REOULAR MEETINO OF THE HASTINGS PLANNING COMAJ/SSION - JUNE 5. 1968 No regular business was transacted ~h this meeting because a regular quorum was not present. l~nforrnally, it was decided that we would not hold a regular meeting in the month of July. The next meeting will be held 'on August 12, 1968. A notice of this meeting will be mailed beforehand. During an informal discussion with Mr. Hoclne, it was decided ~1~ we would tentatively accept the preliminary discussion plan ~h~t he has prepared and that he would present at the August 12th meeting a preliminary zoning area map. TheoreticaLly, our "701" Community-wide Comprehensive Planni~S Program should be completed by October 2, 1968. Besides the revision of our Zoning and Subdivision regulations which are a part of our comprehensive planning program, a review of past minutes and correspondence reveals ~h~ the following proposals have to be resolved soon: ]Preparation for eventual application for Urban l~enewal Funds from the Federal Government - if it seems desirable in the/uture - by recommending to the council the various program necessary for adoption in order to qualify for urban renewal. A decision must be made as to whether or not Hastings should own and maintain its own Municipal Airport. A decision as to the type and location of "neighborhood" style o~ commercial convenience centers. 4. A decision as to whether sidewalks should be required throughout the city.
