HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/22/68HIRSTING$, MINNE$OTft PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING AUGUST 22, 1968 THOSE PRESENT: Chairman Walter Petersen, Councilman Soleim, Councilman Nelson, Mr. Arlie Siebrecht, Mr. Don Fluegel and myself. ALSO ATTENDING: Mr. Norbert Conzemius, Mr. Don Gustafson, Mr. Olson from Harry S. Johnson Associates. Mr. Conzemius presented his final plat for the apartment complex adjacent to Trunk Highway 55, bounded by Lyn Way on the east and Bahts Drive on the west and south. Mr. Conzemius furnished the Planning Commission his permit for the existing access to Trunk Highway 55 at the Doctor's Clinic. He presented the Commission a letter dated August 7, 1968 from the Highway Department, No. 330SP1910, Trunk Highway 55, Plat Review of Valley Manor, City of Hastings, Dakota County. This letter states "access to the site as proposed has been modified Go comply with the department's recommendation and the developer is aware that the ~xisting single in-place entrance will remain until such time as the frontage road is extended westerly to Westview Drive or easterly to Prairie Street". A motion was made by Councilman Nelson and seconded by Mr. Don Fluege] to approve the plat on the condition that the frontage road be dedicated from this plat to Mr. Conzemius' westerly boundary of the entire 160 acres and that a letter agreeing to favorable consideration for storm drainage in the Northwest Storm Sewer Ponding Basin Area be submitted to the Council. This letter had been submitted to the Council at the last meeting. The Planning Commission suggested that I meet with the School Board to acquire the 40 ft. frontage road along their property, that I meet with the doctors at the Mississippi Valley Clinic for dedication of 40 ft. of their frontage for frontage road purposes and I agreed with Mr. Fluegel that I would updraw a legal description of a 40 ft. frontage road from Prairie Street easterly to one lot west of Pine, so that all of the frontage road could be acquired by dedication from the Meters'. The meeting adjourned at 6:20 P.M. Guests: Davidson, Conzemius, Gustafson, Olson After a lengthy discussion pertaining to the Conzemius Final Plat presentation, it was moved by Nelson, seconded by Fluegel that the Commission recommends that the City Council approve the final plat, subject to the Receipt of Dedication of the frontage road along Highway 55, across the full length of the plat and a favorable response to a definite drainage district. Ayes all. It was also agreed t~t the frontage road should extend east of the Conzemtus Plat through the Clt-lc araa~ 't~e School Board area, and the lots east of the School area.
