Minutes of December 10, 1973 meeting approved.
Calvary Baptist Church request for special use permit for a church operated
day care center at the church at 15th $ Pine: This is in an R-1 zone.
Referred to Soleim committee.
Twin City Tech Co. request for rezoning: City attorney has the matter under
study. Mrs. Estes stated that she is an area resident & would prefer that
the property not be rezoned for industrial use. Mr. Hallberg suggests the
possibility of interim permission to operate until the company could move
to an induetrial area. Trautmann committee continues to study the matter.
Michael Wheeler & Sandy Kilbride request for a special use permit to operate
the W-K Gallery at 422 W. 6th St. This is a small art shop with facilities
for making pottery. Retail trade is mostly on a consignment basis. This
is in an R-2 zone. This use may not require a special use permit at all.
Referred to Hallberg committee.
Acting City Engineer M~ Winter requests that The zoning ordinance be
changed to require developers to compute all lot areas on the final plat~
and include a Tabulated list thereof. §11.03(3)h. is the section of sub-
division regulations containing such platting requirements. Motion Soleim
that a provision to this effect be recommended to council with wording left
to discretion of City Attorney. Second Hallberg. Ail ayes.
Jack Anderson sign study referred to Trautmann committee.
Trautmann committee recommends renaming streets in South Hastings by
adding a 2 in front of each present numbered street, i.e. new names would
be 21st~ 22nd, 25rd, 24th~ 25th. Motion Trautmann, Second Stoffel to
adapt committee report. Ail ayes.
Mrs. Willis Olson request for a variance for moving Wallbridge house to 100
block of East 5th Street. Referred to Soleim committee.
A1 Sieben petition for annexation of 58.42 acres in Marshan Township referred
to Trautmann committee. Mr. Tanner stated tha~ he represents A1 Sieben as his
attorney on this matter and that he recognizes that there is a clear conflict
of interest. Mr. Tanner stated further ~hat he would resign from the Planning
Commission if ordered Co do so in order to avoid such a conflict but that bar-
ring resignation, he will not take part in any way in the consideration of this
petition.
