HELD MAY 28, 1974, 7:30 P.M.
Those Present: Mrs. Linde, Mr. Hirchert, Mr. Soleim, Mrs. Stoffel.
Also Present:
Donald Anderson, James ]Baird, Charles Elsasser, Mike
Gray, Bruce Petersen, Mrs. Potter, Mr. & Mrs. Gegen,
Mr. Sahagia, Cannon Falls and Gene Cove, Blaine.
Due to a lack of a quorum, no action could be taken~-~'t
~ince Mr. Hirchert had to leave at 8:15, his committee report was heard and
discussion was held with interested parties. At 8:15 Mr. Hirchert left. Later
Mr. Kramer and Mr. Jensen arrived which constituted a quorum and the meeting
was convened at 8:30.
The minutes of the May 13th meeting were approved as mailed.
A report from the Tanner committee was read concerning the shopping center.
(See attached report). A number of residents from the area were present and
expressed concern with the traffic created by the center. We discussed the
possibility of barricading or closing Honeysuckle Lane at 13th Street or
eliminating access from the center to 13th Street.
MSG - to refer this matter back to the study committee for further study relative
to traffic and landscape plan.
HIRCHERT REPORT
Item 1 -
Request for variance on Prano property.
MSG - to deny the request for a cesspool and approve the request for
a well.
Chairman Linde read a letter from Mayor Petersen.

Kid Duds request to manufacture children's sleepwear at the Gegen
property, 151Z Vermillion Street. Land is presently zoned C-3.
MSC to deny the request.
Request by Audley Zeeveld, Gene Gore to rezone from C-3 to I-Z.
MSC to deny the request.

No report on one way street study.
Ghermak Tire, Inc., request for sign variance.
MSC to deny the request.
Jack Anderson's traffic sign study was referred to Stoffel committee.

HELD MAY 28, 1974, 7:30 P.M.
Mr. Paul Swanstrom, 505 McNamara Avenue, requests a special use permit
to construct a basement apartment. Mrs. 13otter, a neighbor, appeared with
questions relative to the project and wishes to be informed as to hearing dates.
The matter was referred to Mr. Tanner's committee.
Mr. Kramer suggests that when a member of a s~udy committee is unavailable,
the study committee contact any other member of the Commission to temporarily
fill the vacancy so that matters will not be unduly delayed.
James Bzoski, Hastings Repair Service, requested a special use permit for
small motor repair business. Matter referred to Mr. Hirchert's committee.
Mrs. Stoffel reported receiving Historical District Booklets from the City of
Mirmeapolis. Those interested in preservation of historical buildings and homes
can find information in these booklets.
