MEETING HELD MONDAY, JUNE 24
Members Present: Linde, Hallberg, Tanner, Jensen, Stoffel.
Dakota Hills, 4th Addition, Final Plat.
Motion Tanner, second Hallberg to approve the committee report,
(copy attached), and recommend approval of the Dakota Hills,
4th Addition, Final Plat.
All ayes.
Area of Dakota Hills, 2nd Addition.
The committee had checked the area surrounding 15th Street and
Westview Drive and approves the Jack Anderson report except
that the committee recommends that a 4 way stop be installed,
and that 14th Street and Lyn Way be made a 4 way stop intersec-
tion immediately. Residents of this intersection also appear-
ed at the meeting and concurred in the recommendation. The
problem of speeding on Lyn Way and of speeding on 14th Street
has caused a great deal of concern among area residents and
the stop sign control should help with the situation. The 4
way stop sign should be installed immediately and the committee
will continue to study the Jack Anderson report. The commission
requests that the Chief of Police and the Safety Committee of
the Council immediately investigate the traffic problem on Lyn
Way specifically relating to speeding automobiles and using
Lyn Way as a drag strip in the~evening hours. A related matter
which should be taken into consideration is that there are no
school crossing signs installed for the cross-walks immediate-
ly south and west of Pinecrest school where there are black-
top internal sidewalks presently installed. These school cross-
ing signs should be installed now while summer school is still
in session. Motion Jensen, second Stoffel to recommend the
above for immediate action by the Counsel and to send a copy of
this report to the Chief of Police and the Safety Committee.~
