HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/01/77PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES MARCH 1, 1977 7:30 P.M. The meeting was called to order at 8:20 P.M. by Chairman Stoffel. Members Present: Commissioners Fischer, Wendler, Soffel, Trautman, Latch. The Planning Commission asked that the third item under Site Plan Review for Rosewood Corporation be deleted from the minutes. In its place the Commission asked a statement be made indicating that easements be required as is necessary by the City. In the last paragraph of the motion for Rosewood, the Commission asked that it be modified to read "the City Planner, on behalf of the Planning Commission,will submit a memo to the Industrial Park Advisory Committee asking for their inter- pretation of what easements should be required when dealing with Industrial Park plan? APPROVAL OF MINUTES The Commission also asked that the Minutes regarding the Home Occupation permit with Dale Sulla be revised to indicate that it was referred to a committee and not given specifically to the Fischer committee. The final corrections to the February 14th minutes involves the insertion of the word "governmental" before administrative offices regarding the zoning amendment to Dakota County property. Moved by Commissioner Wendler, seconded by Fischer to delete Item No. 3 in the Planning Commission Minutes for the Rosewood Site Plan approval and in its place insert "easement as determined by the City". 5 Ayes O Nays Moved by Commissioner Wendler, seconded by Commissioner Fischer to approve the Minutes as amended. 5 Ayes 0 Nays. 2 Planning Commission Minutes continued March 1, 1977 Mr. Dale Sulla has applied for a Home Occu- pation permit to operate a repair shop for small electircal appliances in an accessory building. The Planning Director informed the Cormnission that the zoning code specifically indicates that home occupations are not allowed in accessory buildings. The Planning Commission reviewed a committees recommendation in favor of granting a home occupation. The Planning Commis- sion members discussed the need for revising existing ordinance regarding Home Occupation permits and there was general agreement that some revisions should be made to the existing ordinance. Moved by Commissioner Fischer, seconded by Commissioner Wendler to refer the Home Occupation permit request by Dale Sulla to the Council for their discretion. 5 Ayes 0 Nays This item was referred to a committee of the Planning Commission to be chaired by Commis- sioner Wendler. REZONING OF R-3 PROPERTY ON WEST 23RD STREET. Moved by Commissioner Trautmann and seconded by Commissioner Wendler to adjourn at 9:13 P.M. 5 Ayes 0 Nayes. ADJOURNMENT jm
