HomeMy WebLinkAbout2 - MinutesHastings Planning Commission October 10, 2022 - Regular Meeting Agenda Hastings City Hall - Council Chambers 7:00 p.m. The Planning Commission of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a regular meeting on Monday, October 10, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hastings City Council Chambers. 1. Call Meeting to Order Planning Commissioners Present: Messina, Halberg, LeBrun, Matzke, Peters, Romens, and Teiken Planning Commissioners Absent: None Staff Present: Community Development Director John Hinzman 2. Approval of Minutes – September 12, 2022 Regular Meeting Chair Messina asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes. Commissioner Halberg noted a correction to the vote for the Hastings Commons LLC item. Minutes approved as presented with the correction to the vote. PUBLIC HEARINGS OTHER ACTIONS 3. Intek Plastics - Site Plan #2022-52 – Building Addition – 1000 Spiral Blvd. Director Hinzman provided a summary of the request. Commission is asked to review the proposed site plan and make a recommendation to City Council. The applicants are proposing to add a 60,200 square foot addition onto the existing building, parking lot addition, and related site improvements for drainage and landscaping. The addition will primarily be used for warehousing with additional manufacturing lines added in place of the relocated warehousing. The property is guided Industrial within the 2040 Comprehensive Plan. Messina asked if the commissioners had any comments or questions. Commissioner Teiken asked if the plans would be able to move forward if the property to be purchased from HEDRA does not sell. Hinzman indicated the land sale will go before Council prior to the site plan. Chair Messina expressed gratitude to the attendees for their collaboration and the proposed plan. Commissioner Teiken made the motion to approve, seconded by Romens. Director Hinzman indicated the recommendation will go before City Council on October 17th. Ayes: Commissioners Messina, Halberg, LeBrun, Matzke, Peters, Romens, and Teiken Nays: None Absent: None 4. Other Business – Hinzman provided a summary of recent City Council actions and future items. Hinzman shared Commissioner Romens is resigning from the Planning Commission and expressed his appreciation for Romens’ dedication and service over the past three years. 5. Adjourn Commissioner Romens motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:13 PM. Seconded by Commissioner Halberg. Vote: Ayes 7; Nays: 0. Motion approved as presented.
