Wage Adjustment 2022-2023
This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is entered into by the City of Hastings and the Law
Enforcement Labor Services, Inc. (LELS), Local No. 462 for the purpose of implementing the wage
adjustment as a result of the recent Compensation and Classification study.
WHEREAS, LELS is the sole representative for patrol sergeants for the City of Hastings Police
Department;
WHEREAS, the City of Hastings recently concluded the Compensation and Classification study
resulting in a recommended wage adjustment for patrol sergeants;
WHEREAS, the City and LELS hereby agree to fully implement the wage adjustment to all patrol
sergeants covered by the collective bargaining agreement, as described below.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the parties hereto agree as follows:
1. Provide all patrol sergeants with a wage increase of $1.49 retroactive to July 4, 2022. This is in
addition to the $0.51 already agreed in the Memorandum of Agreement effective July 1, 2022.
The total is $2.00.
2. Effective January 1, 2023, provide an additional market adjustment of $0.90 plus 3% Cost of
Living Adjustment (COLA).
