HASTINGS PLANNING COMMISSION 1ViEETING
MONDAY, MARCH 26, 1979
7:30 P.M.
The meeting was called to order at 7:33 P.M. by Chairman Latch.
Members Present:
Commissioners Latch, Murphy, Kramer, Wendler,
Hughes, Liska, and Bultman
Members Absent: Commissioners Groth and Gergen
Moved by Commissioner Murphy, seconded by
Commissioner Wendler to approve the Minutes of
the February 26, 1979 Planning Commission meeting
(Minutes had not been prepared prior to the March
1Zth meeting). 7 Ayes - 0 Nayes.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Moved by Commissioner Murphy, seconded by
Commissioner Wendler to approve the Minutes
of the March 12, 1979 Planning Commission
meeting. 7 Ayes - 0 Nayes.
The Holub's are requesting a home occupation permit
for a day care center with a maximum of five (5)
children. Mrs. Holub is attempting to get a grant
for the construction of a fence around the back yard.
Chairman Latch referred the matter to the Kramer
Committee.

Mr. Warring gave a presentation which included slides.
He commented on growth trends, employment trends,
population, and transportation factors that had been
identified in research studies by the Dakota County
Planning Department. He also explained that the
Dakota County Planning Department was holding
workshops at various locations throughout the County
to receive citizen input onlong range planning for
the County and requested that if any interested
individuals could participate. A workshop is
currently being planned for sometime in May for the
Hastings area.

Mr. Bauer owns property in southwest Hastings bounded
on the west by Pleasant Drive and West g3rd St. on the
north. The property is presently zoned R-3, and Mr.
Bauer is interested in rezoning and platting one (1) row
of single family lots along West Z3rd St. Under this
proposal, the remainder of the larger parcel would
remain R-3. Mr. Bauer had previously approached the
