Members Present: Commissioners Freiermuth, Won Feldt, Reuter, Simacek, and Kunkel Members Absent: Commissioners Wendler, Bultman, and Murphy. Moved by Commissioner Simacek, seconded by Commissioner Murphy to approve the Minutes of the May 12th Planning Commission meeting. 5 Ayes - 0 Nayes. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Moved by Commissioner Simacek, seconded by Commissioner Re ute r to remove the matter from the table. 5 Ayes - 0 Nayes. Cornnais s [one r F re ie rmuth stated that he had not been able to meet with the members of the Committee, but that he had reviewed the site himself. He indicated that after reviewing the proposed plans, the site, and the neighborhood, he felt that the proposal would fit into the character of the area, would not detract from the surrounding neighborhood, and recommended that the site plan be approved. Commissioner Simacek indicated that he agreed with Mr. Freiermuth's statement. COMMITTEE REPORT- SITE PLAN REVIEW - PROPOSED ANTIQUE SHOP - 7.18 VERMILLION ST. - HELEN FURBER JACQUES Moved by Commissioner Simacek, seconded by Commissioner Reuter to approve the site plan for the proposed antique shop. 5 Ayes - 0 Nayes. The Planner explained that Mr. Schutrop's request was to use the existing car dealership facility to only sell used cars. He also explained that only franchised auto dealers were permitted in the C-3 zoning district. Acting Chairman Freiermuth referred the matter to a Co mmittee chairedby Cornnnissioner Murphy, and including Commissioners Reuter and Kunkel. REQUEST TO USE FORMER NEW CAR DEALERSHIP AS A USED CAR OPERA- TION (FORMER OSBORN- FASULA DODGE PROPER- TY - 1904 VERMILLION ST.i - MR. GILSCHUTROP) The Planner explained the proposed amendments, and explained some comments that had been received from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. FLOOD PLAIN ORDINANCE AMENDMEN TS Planning Commis sion Minute s (Continued) Moved by Commissioner Simacek, seconded by Commissioner Reuter to approve the proposed Flood Plain Ordinance amendments to be made in order for the City to remain eligible for participating in the National Flood Insurance Program, subject to minor modifications as a result of comments received from the Minnesota Departmen~ of Natural Resources, and the Federal Insurance Administration. 5 Ayes - 0 Naye s. The Planner explained that both plans were part of the overall complement of documents required by the Metropolitan Land Planning Act. Commissioner Simacek indicated that he could not remember reviewing the Comprehensive Sanitary Sewer Plan. Moved by Commissioner Von Feldt, seconded by Commissioner Simacek to approve the Comprehensive Drainage Plan. 5 Ayes - 0 Nayes. Moved by Commissioner Kunkel, seconded by Commissioner Reuter to table action on the Sanitary Sewer Plan until the next Planning Commission meeting in order to have time for further review. 5 Aves - 0 Nayes.
