Members Present: Commissioners Wendler, Stevens, Simacek., Freiermuth, and Murphy. Membe rs Absent: Commissioners Von Feldt, Reuter, Bultman, and Kunkel. Moved by CommiSsioner Murphy seconded by Commissioner Stevens to approve the Minutes of the May 11, 1981 Planning CommiSsion Meeting. 5 Ayes, O N~yes. The planner explained that Mr. Smith was now requesting a minor subdivision and a special use permit to convert the existing home to a two family dwelling, and leave the adjacent lot open for the construction of the new house. Moved by CommiSsioner Murphy seconded by CommiSsioner Simacek to schedule a public Hearing for the June 8, 1981 planning Comm- ission Meeting if possible because of the news- paper deadlines, or June ZZ the alternative. 5 Ayes, 0 l~4ayes. Mr. MurrayLaub was present at the meeting to explain to the Planning Commission the basics of his proposed development. Moved by CommiSsioner Simacek seconded by CommiS sione r Murphy that the Planning CommiSsion recommend to the Council that they agree in concept with Mr. Laub's proposal. APPROVAL OF MINUTES SPECIAL USE PERMIT AND LOT SIZE VARIANCE TWO FAMILY DWELLING IN AN R-Z ZONING DISTRICT 1012 RAMSEY STREET THOM SMITH DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL CONDOMINIUM DEVELOP- MENT AT RAMSEY STREET AND THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER IN DOWNTOWN HASTINGS- THE LAUB FAMILY Minutes ~ Hastings Planning Commission Meeting, cont. -2- Mayor Stoffel was present ai 'the meeting and indicated that it appeared the County Board had been informed that the Planning Commission had approved the generator building from the understanding that it would be a permanent st~t~r~. Several Planning Commission members expressed the feeling that it had been their understanding that the structure was to be temporary. Moved by Commissioner Simacek seconded by Commissioner Murphy to direct the Chairman and City Planner to send a letter to the County Board clarifying the Planning Commissions position on the geneeator shed. 5 Ayes, 0 NaMes.
