HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/25/82MINUTES OF HASTINGS PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MONDAY, OCTOBER 25, 1982 7:30 P.M. The Meeting was called to order by Chairman Wendler at 7:30 P.M. Members Present: Commissioners Wendler, Swanson, Stevens, Reuter, Simacek, Anderson, Murphy, and Conzemius, who arrived at 7:35 P.M. Members Absent: Commissioner Bultman. Moved by Commissioner Murphy, seconded by Commissioner Reuter to approve the Minutes of the September 27, 1982 Planning Commission Meeting. 7 Ayes, 0 Nayes. Mr. Zuzek was requesting the variance to allow for more yard area. Councilman Trautmann appeared at the Meeting to argue in favor of granting the variance, as he felt that the garage would be in line with the house, provide yard area for the lot, and that Forest Street probably would never be widened. Moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Stevens to recommend denial of the requested variance, as there was room to meet the required setback, conse- quently hardship was not demonstrated. 8 Ayes, 0 Nayes. The proposed addition was to the front of the structure to provide for more seating. Parking requirements would still be met, and the building materials would be iden- tical to the existing building. Moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Simacek to approve the proposed site plan.~ 8 Ayes, 0 Nayes The proposed lot is 460 square feet short of the required lot size. Moved by Commissioner Murphy, seconded by Cormnissioner Anderson to schedule a Public Hearing for the November 8, 1982 Planning Commission Meeting. 8 Ayes, 0 Nayes The Planning Commission members asked questions about the mobile home issue and the Hastings Sewage Treatment Plant expansion issue. APPROVAL OF MINUTES VARIANCE - STREET SET- BACK FOR GARAGE - 500 WEST 18TH STREET - THOMAS ZUZEK SITE PLAN REVIEW - A&W EXPANSION - 2006 VERMILLION STREET - STAR REALTY SPECIAL USE PERMIT & VARIANCE - TWIN HOME - 310 WEST 12TH STREET - DON KELLER ADJOURNMENT Moved by Commissioner Simacek, seconded by Commissioner Reuter to adjourn at 8:20 P.M. 8 Ayes, ~0 Nayes.
