The Meetings was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by
Chairman Murphy.
Members Present: Commissioners Murphy, Swanson, Stevens,
Simacek, and Anderson.
Members Absent:
Commissioner Reuter, Martin, Conzemius,
and Wendler.
Moved by Commissioner Anderson, seconded by
Coramlssioner Stevens to approve the Minutes of the
September 12, 1983 Planning Commission Meeting.
5 Ayes, 0 Nayes.
Moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by
Commissioner Simacek to schedule a Public Hearing
for the October 11, 1983 Planning Commission Meeting.
5 Ayes, 0 Nayes.
The Planning Commission listened to a number of
realtors, a contractor, and a property owner, who all
argued for less restrictive requirements for two family
dwellings in the R-2 District.
Moved by Cormaissioner Simacek, seconded by Cormmis-
sioner Stevens, to recommend that the City Council
approve the earlier set of recommendations made by the
Planning Commission and the Joint Planning Commission
City Council Committee, which has studied the matter.
Moved by Commissioner Murphy, seconded by Commis-
sioner Stevens to amend the motion to revise the re-
commendations by adding a new provision that where
existing structures would be razed and new two family
dwellings built, that the conversion standards apply
to the new structure, rather than the new construction
standards in the current proposal. 4 Ayes, Swanson Naye.
The vote was then taken on the original motion.
3 Ayes, Swanson and Murphy Naye. Motion passed.
Moved by Commissioner Simacek, seconded by Commis-
sioner Anderson to adjourn at 8:28 p.m. 5 Ayes, 0 Nayes.
