October 26, 1987
The regular meeting of the Hastings Planning Commission was called
tO order at 7:30 p.m.
Members Present: Commissioners Kaiser, Dredge, Simacek,
Folch (late), Conzemius, Voelker, Ditty(late)
Members Absent: Commissioner Anderson
Staff Present:
Planning Director Tom Harmening and
Assistant Planner Steve Bjork
A motion was made by Commissioner Kaiser, seconded
by Commissioner Conzemius to approve the October 12,
1987 Planning Commission minutes. Upon vote taken,
Ayes, 5; Nayes, 0.
MINUTES
Chairman Simacek opened the public hearing at 7:34 pm PUBLIC HEAR-
for a possible waiver procedure to the Home ING-HOME
Occupation Standards. There being no comments from OCCUPATION
the audience, the public hearing was closed at WAIVER
7:35 p.m. After discussion, a motion was made by
Commissioner Kaiser, seconded by Commissioner Voelker
to table the action until better wording can be
developed. Upon vote taken, Ayes,7; Nayes, 0.
HRA Director John Grossman, discussed
to the Hastings Hotel Project. Planning Director CHANGES
Harmening informed the Commission that the Hotel
Project will require amendments to the Comp. Plan
and possibly the Critical Areas Plan. A motion was made by
Cc~missioner Kaiser, seconded by Commissioner Folch
to order a public hearing to amend the Comp. Plan
and, as necessary, the Critical Areas Plan. Upon vote taken,

Planning Director Harmening informed the Commission COMP. PLAN
that the Council approved the budget request for a UPDATE
Comp. Plan update. Harmening asked that three members
of the Commission be appointed to assist in the process.
Chairman Simacek appointed Commissioners Ditty,
Kaiser, and Folch to the committee. Commissioner
Folch will act as Chair.
Planning Director Harmening informed the Commission
about the recent Council decisions.
OTHER BUSINESS
UPDATE
There being no further business a motion was made
by Commissioner Kaiser, seconded by Commissioner
Voelker to adjourn the meeting at 8:52 p.m.
Upon vote taken, Ayes, 7; Nayes, 0.
