City Council Workshop
July 19, 2021
The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a workshop on Monday, July 19,
2021 at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the Hastings City Hall, 101 East 4th Street,
Hastings, Minnesota.
Members Present: Mayor Fasbender, Councilmembers Braucks, Folch, Fox, Lund, Vaughan
Members Absent: Councilmember Leifeld
Staff Present: City Administrator Dan Wietecha
Assistant City Administrator Kelly Murtaugh
Public Works Director Nick Egger
Community Development Director John Hinzman
City Attorney Kori Land
Others Present: Commissioner Mike Slavik, Dakota County
Jenna Fabish, Dakota County
Steve Weser, Alliant Engineering, Inc.
Mayor Fasbender called the workshop to order at 5:34 p.m.
Weser and Fabish gave a presentation updating the status of the CSAH 46 Corridor Study. The
presentation provided an overview of the study goals, findings, and possible next steps.
Council discussion on design options, impact on nearby and intersecting streets, intersection
restrictions, roundabouts,non-motorized traffic, bridge,trails, cost coverage, and intersection
with Hwy 61. Council supported taking the ideas to a public forum.
The next step will be to seek public engagement through Open House in late summer to complete
the study in November.
