The Hastings Planning Commission of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a regular meeting on
Monday, May 24, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom video conference.
1. Call Meeting to Order
Planning Commissioners Present: Best, Halberg, Matzke, Peters, Romens and Teiken
Planning Commissioners Absent: Messina
Staff Present: City Planner Justin Fortney
2. Approval of Minutes
Commissioner Halberg motioned to approved as presented, seconded by Commissioner Best. Roll
call vote: Ayes 7; Nays 0. Motion approved.

3. Port of Hastings Outfitters - Home Occupation Permit #2021-23 - E-Bike Rentals - 420 East 6th
Street.
Fortney detailed the Home Occupation Permit request for E-Bike rentals at 420 East 6th Street.
The Commissioners and Paul Schmitz, applicant, discussed the typical number of rentals in one day,
customer parking and the number of rental bikes.
Commissioner Halberg motioned to approve as presented, seconded by Commissioner Teiken. Roll call
vote: Ayes 7; Nays 0. Motion approved.
Fortney noted that this item will be on the June 7, 2021 City Council meeting agenda.
4. Other Business
Fortney updated the Commissioners of Planning items approved by the City Council and detailed items
anticipated to be on the upcoming Planning Commission Agendas.
5. Adjourn
Commissioner Teiken motioned to adjourn at 7:14 p.m., seconded by Commissioner Best. Roll call
vote: Ayes 7; Nays 0. Motion approved.
