HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/23/90HASTINGS PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING OF 7/23/90 The regular meeting of the Hastings Planning Commission was called to order by Commissioner Kaiser at 7:30 p.m. Members Present: Commissioners Dredge, Reinardy, Kaiser, Featherstone, Anderson, Zender and Cedar Members Absent: Ditty and Patzke Staff Present: City Planner Czech Commissioner Kaiser called for additions or corrections to the minutes of the regular meeting of June 25, 1990 and hearing none the minutes were approved. Commissioner Kaiser noted that Michelle Richmond was requesting that her home occupation proposal be tabled until the August 13, 1990, regular Planning Commission meeting. MINUTES HOME OCCUPATION - CONSTRUCT FURNITURE - 1961 LOUIS LANE Commissioner Zender moved, Commissioner Anderson made a second, to table Michelle Richmond's home occupation request until the August 13, 1990, regular Planning Commission meeting. Upon vote taken, Ayes, 7; Nayes, 0. Czech briefly reviewed his July 14, 1990, memorandum to the Planning Commission which requested that the Planning Commission order a public hearing for a special use permit and building height variance for a resthome/old age home (home for the elderly) as requested by Haven Homes Health Center and Lester Fair in an R-1 Zone District. ORDER PUBLIC HEARING - SPECIAL USE PERMIT/BLDG. HEIG~TVARIANCE- RESTHOME/OLD AGE HOME-HAVEN HOMES LESTER FAIR-930 WEST 16TH STREET Commissioner Zender moved, Commissioner Reinardy made a second, to order a public hearing for the Planning Commissions August 13, 1990, regular meeting in order to review a request made by made by Haven Homes for a special use permit for a resthome/old age home and a building height variance. Upon vote taken, Ayes, 7; Nayes, 0. Czech briefly reviewed his July 16, 1990, memorandum to the Planning Commission which requested that the Planning Commission order a public hearing for its August 13, 1990, meeting in order to review a proposed ordinance ORDER PUBLIC HEARING - R-7 HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT which would create an R-7 High Density Residential District. Commissioner Anderson moved, Commissioner Zender made a second, to order a public hearing for the Planning Commission's August 13, 1990, regular meeting in order to review a proposed zoning ordinance amendment which would create an R-7 High Density Residential District. Upon vote taken, Ayes, 7; Nayes, 0. Czech briefly reviewed his July 17, 1990, memo ORDER PUBLIC to the Planning Commission which requested HEARING - COMP that the Planning Commission order a public PLAN AMEND. & hearing in order to review a Comp. Plan amendment REZONE - LOTS from "Medium Density Residence" to "High Density 1-4, BLOCK 18, Residence" and a rezone from C-3 to R-7 for Lots ORIGINAL TOWN 1-4, Block 18, Original Town of Hastings. OF HASTINGS Commissioner Reinardy moved, Commissioner Cedar made a second, to order a public hearing for the Planning Commission's August 13, 1990, regular meeting in order to review a proposed Comp. Plan Azmendment from "Medium Density Residence" to "High Density Residence" and a rezone from C-3 to R-7 for Lots 1-4, Block 18, Original Town of Hastings. Upon vote taken, Ayes, 7; Nayes, 0. Czech briefly reviewed his July 19, 1990, memorandum to the Planning Commission which requested that the Planning Commission order a public hearing for it August 13, 1990, meeting in order to review a preliminary plat submitted by Siewart Construction Company called Pleasant Valley 5th Addition. ORDER PUBLIC HEARING PRELIMINARY PLAT- PLEASANT VALLEY 5TH ADDITION - S I EWART CONSTRUCTION CO. Commissioner Anderson moved, Commissioner Zender made a second, to order a public hearing for the Planning Commission's August 13, 1990, regular meeting in order to review a preliminary plat called Pleasant Valley 5th Addition. Upon vote taken, Ayes, 7; Nayes 0. Czech indicated to the Planning Commission that replacement pages for the Zoning Ordinance were available after the meeting. UPDATES/OTHER There being no further business Commissioner Dredge moved, Commissioner Zender made a second, to adjourn the meeting at 7:37 p.m. ADJOURNMENT
