HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/09/92Hastings Planning commission Minutes of March 9, 1992 meeting The regular meeting of the Hastings Planning Commission was called to order by Commissioner Reinardy at 7:00 p.m. Commissioners Present: Commissioners Anderson, Bateman, Bolesworth, Mesaros, Featherstone, Reinardy and Zender Commissioners Absent: None Staff Present: city Planner Czech Commissioner Reinardy called for additions or corrections to the minutes of the regular meeting of February 24, 1992. There being no additions or corrections to the minutes, the minutes were approved. MINUTES Czech reviewed staffs February 24, 1992 memorandum to the Planning Commission concerning a request by Larry Sanders for approval of a 2.5 foot variance from the interior side setback so he may split two parcels that are currently under one tax identification number. VARIANCE - 509 W. 6TH ST. -SANDERS The Planning Commission discussed with staff, Larry Sanders the applicant, and Gary Eschen an adjacent property owner at 506 W. 6th Street issues relating to the variance request including, but not limited to, the location of the proposed home on Lot 1, the existing garage, and setbacks for existing structures as well as the proposed home. Commissioner Zender moved, Commissioner Featherstone made a second, to approve the 2.5 foot variance request based on the finding that the home was built prior to the adoption of the City's Zoning Ordinance and subject to the following conditions: The applicant submit a building permit application and fee prior to approval of the lot split. Furthermore, the applicant must construct the home within one year of submitting a building permit application otherwise the variance approval will become null and void. 2. The applicant shall pay the required park dedication fee of $600.00. 3. The applicant shall pay the required interceptor sewer charge of $150.00. Upon vote taken, Ayes, 4; Nays, 3 (Mesaros, Anderson and Bateman). Czech reviewed city Council actions pertaining to Planning items from the Councils March 2, 1992, meeting. UPDATES/OTHER BUSINESS There being no further business, Commissioner Featherstone moved, Commissioner Anderson made a second, to adjourn the meeting at 7:18 p.m. ADJOURNMENT
