HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/25/93 HABTIN~ PLANNING COMMIB~ION · - Meeting of January ZS, 193 The regular meeting of the Hastings Planning Commission was called to order by Commissioner Reinardy at 7:00 p.m. Commissioners Present: Anderson, Bateman, Featherstone, and Reinardy Bolesworth, Commissioners ;tbsent: Staff Present: Michael Wozniak, Community Development Director MINUTE8 Commissioner Reinardy called for additions corrections to the regular meeting minutes of December 28, 1992. There being no additions or corrections the minutes were approved. PUBLIC HEARINQ- COMP. PLAN AMENDMENT & ZONINQ AMENDMENT/ ST. ELIZABETH ANN SETON CHURCH CD Director Wozniak review staff's January 11, 1993, memorandum concerning a request by St. ElizabethAnn Seton Church to amend the City of Hastings Comprehensive Plan to redesignate 20 acres of property to Single Family Residence. The request also asked that the subject property be zoned R-1 Single Family Residence. Commissioner Reinardy Hearing at 7:10 p.m. opened the Public There being no further comments from the audience, Commissioner Reinardy closed the public hearing at 7:12 p.m. Commissioner Featherstone moved, Commissioner Bolesworth made a second to recommend approval to City Council of a Comprehensive Plan Amendment to designate the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church Property "Single Family Residence", subject to Metropolitan Council review and approval. Upon vote taken, Ayes 4; Nays, 0. Commissioner Anderson moved, Commissioner Featherstone made a second to recommend approval to the City Council of the rezone of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church Property from Agriculture (A) Low Density Residence (R- 1). Upon vote taken, Ayes, 4; Nays, 0. PUBLIC HEARINg- NEW COMP. PLAN LAND USE MAP UPDATES/OTHER BUSINESS CD Director Wozniak presented to the Commission a new Comprehensive Land Use Plan Map which incorporates all previous amendments in a legible form, to scale, to provide a more accurate and easier to interpret map for use in administering the Comprehensive Plan. Commissioner Reinardy opened Hearing at 7:30 p.m. the Public There being no further comments from the audience, Commissioner Reinardy closed the public hearing at 7:32 p.m. Commissioner Featherstone complimented staff on preparing the new land use plan map and requested that future amendments be clearly denoted on the new plan map. Commissioner Featherstone moved, Commissioner Bateman made a second to recommend approval to City Council of a new Comprehensive Land Use Plan Map as Appendix A to the City of Hastings Comprehensive Plan and to delete Figures 29, 29A and 29B which are the existing Comprehensive Land Use Plan Maps subject to Metropolitan Council review and approval. Upon vote taken, Ayes, 4; Nays, 0. CD Director Wozniak reviewed actions pertaining to Planning related actions taken by the City Council at its January 19, 1993 meeting. Planning Commission Chairperson Reinardy informed the Commission that appointment of a new Planning Commissioner, Pam Onnen, was approved by the City Council. There being no further business, Commissioner Anderson moved, Commissioner Bolesworth made a second, to adjourn the meeting at 7:52 p.m.
