Minutes of July 12, 1993
The regular meeting of the Hastings Planning Commission was called to order by
Commissioner Reinardy at 7:05 p.m.
Commissioners Present:
Anderson, Bateman, Bolesworth, Onnen and
Reinardy
Commissioners Absent:
Featherstone and Schommer
Staff Present:
Paul Czech, City Planner
MINUTES
Commissioner Reinardy called for additions or corrections to the
regular meeting of June 28, 1993. There being no additions or
corrections the minutes were approved.
PUBLIC HEARING Czech reviewed staff's June 28, 1993, memorandum to the Planning
-PRELIMINARY/ Commission concerning a request by Steve Yanz for approval of a
FINAL PLAT- preliminary/final plat for approximately 34 acres of unplatted
YANZ SUBD. property located adjacent to and north of Glendale Road/County
GLENDALE RD. Road 91 which would result in the creation of two lots one being
approximately 29 acres in size and remaining unplatted with a second
parcel 5 acres in size and platted as Lot 1, Block 1, Yanz Subdivision.
Commissioner Reinardy opened the public hearing at 7:07 p.m.
There being no comment on this item the public hearing was closed.
The Planning Commission discussed several items relating to the
preliminary/final plat including, but not limited to, the condition which
limits the overall density to one dwelling unit per 10 acres, whether
the agricultural zone district allows for this type of development,
septic and well, and a condition relating to park dedication.
Commissioner Bolesworth moved, Commissioner Onnen made a
second, to recommend approval of the preliminary/final plat entitled
Yanz Subdivision subject to the following conditions:
That the applicant provide the city with a legal instrument to
record against the property which restricts the overall density
to one dwelling unit per 10 acres unless the property is
rezoned or there is a change to city code requirements.
That the applicant provide the city $850.00 in public land
dedication/cash in lieu of prior to the city signing the final plat.
Upon vote taken, Ayes, 5; Nays, 0.

ADJOURNMENT
Czech reviewed actions pertaining to planning matters taken by
the City Council at its July 6, 1993, meeting.
There being no further business, Commissioner Bateman moved,
Commissioner Anderson made a second, to adjourn the meeting at
7:14 p.m.
