HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/23/93 HASTINGS PLANNING COMMISSION Minutes of Meeting of August 23, 1993 The regular of the Hastings Planning Commission was called to order by Planning Commissioner Reinardy at 7:00 p.m. Commissioners Present: Anderson, Bateman, Bolesworth,Featherstone, Reinardy and Schommer Commissioners Absent: Onnen Staff Present: City Planner Czech MINUTES HOME OCCUPATION 1820 HIGHLAND DRIVE-DESORDA SITE PLAN-GREEN HOUSE-1419 VERMILLION STREET COSGROVE Commissioner Reinardy called for additions or corrections to the meeting minutes of August 9, 1993. There being no additions or corrections the minutes were approved (Commissioner Featherstone abstained). Czech reviewed staffs August 12, 1993, memorandum to the Planning Commission concerning a request by Donna DeSorda for approval of a home occupation permit at 1820 Highland Drive. Commissioner Schommer moved, Commissioner Bateman made a second, to recommend approval of the home occupation permit at 1820 Highland Drive subject to Miss DeSorda complying with all home occupation standards including, but not limited to, a basic fire protection inspection by the Fire Marshall. Upon vote taken, Ayes, 6; Nays, 0. Czech reviewed staffs August 10, 1993, memorandum to the Planning Commission concerning a request by Chris & Stuart Cosgrove of the Hastings Farm Market for approval of a site plan for a proposed greenhouse at 1419 Vermillion Street. The Planning Commission discussed issues relating to the proposed greenhouse including, but not limited to, the location of the greenhouse and whether lots should be combined under one tax parcel. Commissioner Featherstone moved, Commissioner Schommer made a second, to recommend approval of the site plan request of Chris and Stuart Cosgrove for a greenhouse to be located at 1419 Vermillion Street subject to the following conditions: That the proposed structure and accessory items including, but not limited to, the greenhouse shall be completed pursuant to the approved site plan. Upon request for occupancy of the building, all uncompleted items contained within the site plan shall be addressed pursuant to the escrow requirements contained within the site plan review provisions of the cltys zoning ordinance (Section 10.24). UPDATES/OTHER BUSINESS ADJOURNMENT That the proposed greenhouse shall satisfy all Uniform Building and Fire Codes including, but not limited to, a minimum three foot setback from property lines and six feet from adjacent structures. Upon vote taken, Ayes, 6; Nays, 0. Czech reviewed actions pertaining to planning matters taken by the Council at its August 16, 1993, meeting. There being no further business, Commissioner Schommer moved, Commissioner Anderson made a second, to adjourn the meeting at 7:09 p.m.
