HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/11/99Hastings Planning Commission Minutes of January llth, 1999 Regular Meeting Commissioner Schommer called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. Commissioners Present: Schommer, Flom, Donndelinger, Schultz, Anderson, Harrington and Strauss Commissioners Absent: none Staff Present: Acting Community Development Director, Matt Weiland. 2. Minutes: There being no additions or corrections the minutes of the December 14th, 1998, Regular Planning Commission Meeting were approved. 3. Three Rivers Manufactured Home Park Site Plan - Phase VI Acting Community Development Director, Matt Weiland presented background information on this subject. Planning Commissioner Discussion The Planning Commission discussed the road access and parks in the development. Planning Commission Action: Commissioner Schultz made a motion and Commissioner Donndelinger made a second to make a Recommendation to the City Council to approve the Three Rivers Phase VI Site Plan subject to the items listed below. The proposed structure and accessory items including, but not limited to streets, utilities and landscaping shall be completed pursuant to the approved site plan. Upon request for occupancy of the building, all uncompleted items contained within the site plan shall be addressed pursuant to city code escrow requirements. In addition to the landscaping proposed along the southern property line, the developer shall plant one Aboulevard@ tree per lot. These trees shall be at least two inches in diameter at the base and the species of the tree should be on the list of approved trees created by the City Forester. This requirement is consistent with what the city has been requiring in other areas. The applicant/developer shall provide the City with as-builts of Phase VI streets and utilities. The applicant shall incorporate the Public Works Director=s conditions as stated in his memo dated 1/8/99/ Upon vote taken, Ayes, 7; Nays, 0. Motion Carried 5. Updates and Other Business: The Planning Commission voted to elect Dana Schultz the new Planning Chair and Ken Harrington the Vice Chain of the Planning Commission. An announcement was made that there is a vacancy on the Planning Commission and application will be accepted through the end of January. Bob Schommer was thanked for his years of service to the Planning Commission. Acting Community Development Director, Matt Weiland informed the Planning Commission about the informational meeting to be held on January 20th, 1999 concerning the Hastings 55 Center project.
