Minutes of March 24, 1997
Commissioner Schommer opened the meeting at 7:05 p.m.
Commissioner Present: Schommer, Strauss, Bolesworth, Flom.
Commissioners Absent: Onnen and Harrington.
Staff Present: Community Development Director Wozniak.
Minutes:
Commissioner Schommer called for additions or corrections to the February 24, Planning
Commission meeting minutes. There being no changes the meeting minutes were approved.
Public Hearing: Riverwood 7th Addition Preliminary Plat/PRD Plan
Following a presentation of background information, Commissioner Schommer opened the public
hearing at 7:15 p.m. A number of residents expressed concerns related to the proposed
development plan. These concerns included the following: have mandated environmental review
requirements been meet, are flood hazard issues being properly addressed, will the proposed
apartment hurt the character of the neighborhood, will the development cause unacceptable traffic
problems, will abutting property need to be annexed by the City. Neil Siewert, representing the
applicant commented that apartments had been included in development plans for the site many
years ago. The project engineer offered comments regarding how the development plans will be
modified to comply with current storm water management standards.
There being no further comments the hearing was closed at 8:15 p.m.
After considerable discussion and deliberation the following action was taken.
Commissioner Strauss moved and Commissioner Bolesworth made a second to table action on
the Riverwood 7th Addition Preliminary Plat and PRD Plan until such time as the applicant
address concerns expressed by the Commission related to flood hazard issues, compliance with
shoreland management requirements, compliance with wetland's requirements, and modification
of development plans to address major plan modifications recommended by the Public Work's
Director.
Upon vote taken, Ayes 4, Nays 0.

Commissioner Flom moved and Commissioner Bolesworth made a second to adjourn the meeting
at 8:40 p.m.
