HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-19-77 Hastings, Minnesota December 19, 1977 193 TIle City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a regular meeting on Monday, December 19, 1977 at 7:30 P.M. in the CoUncil Chambers of the City Hall. ~~mbers present: Councilmen Shannon, Trautmann, Fischer, Erickson, Trutna, Novak, Karnick, Collins, and Mayor Petersen. i, Members absent: None. The Mayor asked if there were any corrections or additions to the minutes of the meeting of December 5, 1977 and hearing none declared the minutes approved as read. Moved by Councilman Shannon, seconded by Councilman Fischer to approve the Preliminary Plat of Country Club Addition wi th the inclusion of a 10 foot Bikeway Easement on the Westerly side of Lot 5 from Southview Drive to the Vermillion River Dike. Ayes, Shannon, Fischer; Nayes, 6. M::>tion failed. Moved by Councilman Trautmann, seconded by Councilman Erickson to approve the Preliminary Plat of Country Club 4th Addi tion without the Bikeway Easement, also to approve the 60 foot Street Variance. Ayes, 7; Nayes, Fischer. -- I Moved by Counciiman Novak, seconded by Councilman Fischer to authorize the City Administrator to advertise for a Ci ty Planner for the City. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. Moved by Councilman Trautmann, seconded by Councilman Fischer that the next regular meeting of the Council be set for January 3, 1978 because of the holiday January 2nd. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. Moved by Councilman Erickson, seconded by Councilman Trautmann that the year end meeting of the Council to transfer funds and pay final pitls be December 30, 1977 at 4:30 P.M. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. Moved by Councilman Fischer, seconded by Councilman Erickson to accept the resignation of Jeannette Marthaler as Engineer Secretary, effective December 30, 1977, 4:30 P.M. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. Moved by Councilman Novak, seconded by Councilman Collins to hire Diane Latuff as a temporary employee in the Engineering Department. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. Moved by Councilman Novak, seconded by Councilman Karnick to adopt the resolution allowing a rate increase for curbside refuse pickup to Hastings Sanitary Disposal, Inc. The new rate to be $15.00 per quarter to all residential customers, effective January 1, 1978. Ayes, 8; Nayes, DOne. ~bved by Councilman Trautmann, seconded by Councilman Shannon to declare as excess property the 1959 one-half ton Pickup Truck at the Street Department and to authorize the City Administrator to sell the truck at Public Auction on January 14, 1977 at 10:00 A.M. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. I'Dved by Councilman Trautmann, seconded by Councilman Trutna to authorize the City Administrator to advertise for bids for a Loader for the Street Department.
