HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-04-72 1076 Hastings, Minnesota December 4, 1972 The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a regular meeting on Monday, December 4, 1972 at 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall. Members present: Councilmen Novak, Kane, Collins, Hall- berg, O'Connor, Wilson, Driscoll, Christ- enson, and Mayor Rotty. l Members absent: Non. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Councilman Christenson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: BIDS FOR CITY AMBULANCE WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for furnish- ing the City with one (1) Ambulance, the fOllowing bids were received complying with the advertisement: BIDDER BID PRICE TRADE-IN NET BID Superior Coach Sales $14,989.54 $6,898.54 $ 8,091.00 Miller-Meteor Sales (Oldsmobile) $17,215.00 $6.430.00 $H>,785.00 (Cadillac) $19,138.00 $8,800.00 $10,338.00 WHEREAS, it appears that Superior Coach Sales is the lowest responsible bidder, r- NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hasti~gs, Minnesota: The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Superior Coach Sales, for the purchase of one (1) Ambulance according to the specifications therefore approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk. The City Clerk is hereby directed and authorized to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, after a contract has been signed. Dump Truck with dump body, and one (1) half (~) ton Pickup Truck for the Street Department, bids to be opened on December 18, 1972 at 2:00 o'clock P.M. in the office of the City Clerk. Bid specifications are on file in the City Clerk~s office. Ayes, all; Nays, none. Moved by Councilman Driscoll, seconded by Councilman Collins to approve the following partial payments for work performed on the 1972 Improvement Program. Ayes, all; Nays, none. Bituminous Surface Treating $14,672.36 Chicago Bridge & Iron $19,420.00 Riverside Sand & Gravel $60,645.63 1077 Moved by Councilman Christenson, seconded by Councilman Wilson to approve Phase II Development Plan of Outlot A Imperial Estates subject to Section 7.6 of the Zoning Ordinance to the City of Hastings dated December 7, 1970, and subject to final platting. Ayes, all; Nays, none. Moved by Councilman Novak, seconded by Councilman Driscoll to pass the first reading of the "SIDEWALK ORDINANCE" dated Dec- ember 4, 1972 and also pass the first reading to amend Sub-para- graph F of Paragraph 5 of the Sub-division Ordinance entitled SIDEWALKS AND DRIVEWAYS. Ayes, Councilmen Novak, Kane, Collins, O'Connor, Wilson, Driscoll, and Christenson. Nays, Councilman Hallberg. Motion passed. o Councilman Novak introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: FIRST READING OF AN ORDINANCE TO ADOPT CHARTER REVISION WHEREAS, the Hastings Charter Commission has recommended enactment of a revised City Charter for the City of Hastings by Ordinance pursuant to M.S.A. 410.31; and WHEREAS, the proposed revised Charter has been presented to and reviewed by the City Council; and WHEREAS, adoptionnby ordinance of said proposed Charter is favored and approved by the Council; and WHEREAS a public hearing on said proposed Charter is re- quired before final adoption by Ordinance: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows: 1. That a public hearing on the porposed Charter be held at 7:00 o'clock P.M. on January 8, 1972, with notice thereof to be given as required by law. o 2. That the first reading of an ordinance adopting said Charter by reference is hereby passed this 4th day of December 1972. Said resolution upon being put to a vote, was unanimously adopted. Moved by Councilman Hallberg, seconded by Councilman Christ- enson to pass the first reading bi anzAM!NDMENT TO THE CITY ZONING ORDINANCE dated December 7, 1970 rezoning the following from Agricul- ture to Residential I for Planned Single Unit Development. Ayes, all; Nays, none. HIGHLAND HILLS DEVELOPMENT The East one-half of the East one-half of the Northwest quarter of Section 32, Township 115, Range 17; together with that part of the West one-half of the Northeast quarter of Said Section 32 lying adjacent to and West of the plat of Town~s View Estates and North of the East- West centerline of said Section 32; except the North 455.04 feet thereof and also except the South 355 feet of the East 380 feet thereof.
