The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a
regular meeting on Monday, October 2, 1972 at 7:00 o'clock P.M. in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall.

Members present: Councilmen Novak, Kane, Collins, Hallberg,
O'Connor, Wilson, Driscoll, Christenson,
and Mayor Rotty.
Members absent: None.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Councilman O'Connor introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION ADOPTING ASSESSMENTS
WHEREAS, pursuant to proper notice duly given as required by
law, the Council has met and heard and passed upon all objections to
the proposed assessments for the improvement of the following:
PROPOSAL I
Street Surfacing, Conerete Curb and Gutter:
I
Hillside and 14th Street
Southview Drive and Westview Drive
Brittany Road, Sontag's 1st Addition
Bahls Drive
Lyn Way
Florence Street and 16th Street
Bituminous Surfacing and Concrete Curb and Gutter.
Alley between 8th and 9th Streets, T.H. 61 to Eddy Street
Bituminous Surfacing.
PROPOSAL II
Oaiis Lane and 19th Street
Street Construction and Storm Sewer, Sanitary Sewer
Extension, and Watermain.
Old. Bridge Addition
Street Construction, Sanitary Sewer, Easement, and Watermain.
14th Street and Brittany Road
Street Construction, Sanitary Sewer, Watermain, and Storm
Sewer.
STATE-AID PROJECTS

East 15th Street, T.m 61 to Tyler Street
Curb, Gutter, Sidewalks and Storm Sewer.

Street Surfacing, Curb and Gutter and Limited Storm Drainage.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF HASTINGS:
1. Such proposed assessments, a copy of which is attached
hereto and made a part hereof is hereby accepted and shall constitute
the special assessments against the lands therein, and each tract of
land therein included is hereby found to be benefited by the proposed
improvement in the amount of the assessment levied against it.
2. Such assessment shall be payable in equal installments
extending over a period of 10 years, the first of the installments to
be payable on or before the first Monday of January, 1973. Any deferred

3. The owner of any property so assessed may, for 30 days
after notification from the City Treasurer, pay to the City Treasurer,
the whole of the assessment without interest, and he may at any time,
prior to certification of the assessment to the County Auditor, as
herein proveded, pay the whole of the assessment against any parcel
with interest accrued to the date of payment to eht City Treasurer,
and he may at any time thereafter pay the County Treasurer the entire
amount of the assessment remaining unpaid with interest accrued to
December 31st of the year in which such payment is made.

4. The City Clerk shall forthwith transmit a certified
duplicate of this assessment to the County Auditor to be extended
on the proper tax lists of the County and such assessment shall be
collected and paid over in the same manner as other municipal taxes.

CITY OF HASTINGS: PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF
PERMITS AND COLLECTION OF FEES THEREFOR: PROVIDING
PENALITIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF: DECLARING AND
ESTABLISHING FIRE ZONES, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH"
heretofore adopted by the City Council, is hereby amended to read as
follows:
I
Section 4. The Uniform Building Code, 1967 Edition, is
amended and changed in the following respects: Section 303 (a)
entitled "Building Permit Fees" is amended by deleting therefrom
the fee schedule set forth therein as "Table No.3-A" aftd,'lb,
substituting therefor the following, which shall be known as "Table
No.3-A" "Building Permit Fees for building permits, as well as for
inspection of buildings for construction, including plumbing and
heating, shall be in an amount determined from time to time by the
City Council of the City of Hastings, be resolution."
Ayes, all; Nays, none.
Moved by Councilman Christenson, seconded by Councilman
Hallberg that the bills as audited be approved and the City Clerk be
instructed to issue warrants for the same. Ayes, all; Nays, none.
