HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-02-72 1030 Hastings, Minnesota October 2, 1972 The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a regular meeting on Monday, October 2, 1972 at 7:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall. ~ Members present: Councilmen Novak, Kane, Collins, Hallberg, O'Connor, Wilson, Driscoll, Christenson, and Mayor Rotty. Members absent: None. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Councilman O'Connor introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION ADOPTING ASSESSMENTS WHEREAS, pursuant to proper notice duly given as required by law, the Council has met and heard and passed upon all objections to the proposed assessments for the improvement of the following: PROPOSAL I Street Surfacing, Conerete Curb and Gutter: I Hillside and 14th Street Southview Drive and Westview Drive Brittany Road, Sontag's 1st Addition Bahls Drive Lyn Way Florence Street and 16th Street Bituminous Surfacing and Concrete Curb and Gutter. Alley between 8th and 9th Streets, T.H. 61 to Eddy Street Bituminous Surfacing. PROPOSAL II Oaiis Lane and 19th Street Street Construction and Storm Sewer, Sanitary Sewer Extension, and Watermain. Old. Bridge Addition Street Construction, Sanitary Sewer, Easement, and Watermain. 14th Street and Brittany Road Street Construction, Sanitary Sewer, Watermain, and Storm Sewer. STATE-AID PROJECTS I East 15th Street, T.m 61 to Tyler Street Curb, Gutter, Sidewalks and Storm Sewer. T.H. 55 South Frontage Road from Lyn Way east to Prairie Street Street Surfacing, Curb and Gutter and Limited Storm Drainage. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF HASTINGS: 1. Such proposed assessments, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof is hereby accepted and shall constitute the special assessments against the lands therein, and each tract of land therein included is hereby found to be benefited by the proposed improvement in the amount of the assessment levied against it. 2. Such assessment shall be payable in equal installments extending over a period of 10 years, the first of the installments to be payable on or before the first Monday of January, 1973. Any deferred 1031 installments shall per annum. To the entire assessment, December 31, 1972. added interest for bear interest at the rate of eight percent {8%) first installments shall be added interest on the from the date of this assessment resolution, until To each subsequent installment when due shall be one year on all unpaid installments. 3. The owner of any property so assessed may, for 30 days after notification from the City Treasurer, pay to the City Treasurer, the whole of the assessment without interest, and he may at any time, prior to certification of the assessment to the County Auditor, as herein proveded, pay the whole of the assessment against any parcel with interest accrued to the date of payment to eht City Treasurer, and he may at any time thereafter pay the County Treasurer the entire amount of the assessment remaining unpaid with interest accrued to December 31st of the year in which such payment is made. o 4. The City Clerk shall forthwith transmit a certified duplicate of this assessment to the County Auditor to be extended on the proper tax lists of the County and such assessment shall be collected and paid over in the same manner as other municipal taxes.
