September 18, 1972
The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a
regular meeting on Monday, September 18, 1972 at 8:00 o'clock P.M. in
the Council Chambers of the City Hall.

Members present: Councilmen Kane, Collins, Hallberg, O'Connor,
Wilson, Driscoll, and Mayor Rotty.
Members absent: Councilmen Novak and Christenson.
Moved by Councilman Driscoll, seconded by Councilman Wilson
that the City Clerk be authorized and directed to advertise for bids
for one (1) Ambulance for the City of Hastings, bids to opened on
October 16, 1972 at 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers of the
City Hall. Bid specificiations are on file in the City Clerk's office.
Ayes, all; Nays, none.
Moved by Councilman Driscoll, seconded by Councilman O'Connor
to approve the attendance of Clarence Latch, Fire Chief to the Fire
Chief's Convention being held in Duluth, Minnesota on September 30,
October 1 and 2, 1972. Ayes, all; Nays, none.
Moved by Councilman Driscoll, seconded by Councilman Kane to
approve the following partial payment for work performed on the 1972
State Aid Improvement Program. Ayes, all; Nays, none.

Moved by Councilman Wilson, seconded by Councilman Kane to
approve Wallace Erickson, John Davidson, Mayor Rotty and any Councilmen
wishing to attend the State Industrial Development Meeting being held
in St. Paul on September 28 and 29, 1972. Ayes, all; Nays, none.
Moved by Councilman Collins, seconded by Councilman Kane that
the resolution of the City Council dated July 17, 1972 entitled "RESOLUTION
ON ARMORY" Paragraph four (4) be and hereby is amended to read as follows:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
Pursuant to the authority contained in Minnesota Statutes
Section 193.145, subdivision 2, there shall be and hereby is, irrevocably
levied upon all the taxable property of the City of Hastings, Minnesota
for a period not to exceed 30 years, one mill, or $6,600. whichever is
less, annually, on said taxable property of the City of Hastings for
the Hastings armory bonds, issued by the Minnesota Armory Building Com-
mission, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 193 and the proceeds
of such levy shall be and hereby are irrevocable appropriated to the
purpose specified in Chapter 193, of Minnesota Statutes and shall be
paid to the Minnesota State Armory Building Commission as provided
therein.
Ayes, Councilmen Kane, Collins, Hallberg, Wilson, and Driscoll.
Nays, Councilman O'Connor.
Adopted by the City Council this 18th day of September 1972.

to refer the Charter back to the Charter Commission for revision. Ayes,

authorize the City Clerk to advertise for a full time Building Inspector
to be a full time employee of the Engineering Department. Qualifications
on file in the City Clerk's office. Ayes, all; Nays, none.

Moved by Councilman Hallberg, seconded by Councilman Wilson
to refer to the Planning Commission the request of Jim Hoffman that he
be allowed a special use permit or variance as required to construct a
storage garage in an R-2 Zone on Lot 1 and 2, Block 17, Allison's
Addition. (SW corner of Oak and 10th). Ayes, all; Nays, none.
Moved by Councilman Collins, seconded by Councilman Driscoll
that the bills as audited be approved and the City Clerk be instructed
to issue warrants for the same. Ayes, all; Nays, none.
