HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-06-76 Hastings, Minnesota October 6, 1976 1997 The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a regular adjourned meeting on Wednesday, October 6, 1976 at 7:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall. Members present: Councilmen Kramer, Erickson, Novak, Latch, Schnirring, Trautmann, Hallberg, Fischer, and Mayor Petersen. Members absent: None. The Mayor opened the meeting stating that this meeting was a continuation of the regular Council meeting of October 4, 1976 and the purpose of the meeting was to address ourselves to the final budget procedure for the 1977 Budget. Moved by Councilman Fischer, seconded by Councilman Trautmann to delete $1,426 from the pro- posed budget, which constitutes the annual dues to the Association of Metropolitan Cities. Ayes, Fischer, Novak, Erickson, Trautmann; Nayes, Schnirring, Kramer, Latch, Hallberg. Being a tie vote the Mayor cast a naye vote thus defeating the motion. Moved by Councilman Kramer, seconded by Councilman Schnirring to budget a total dollar value of $34,000 for the Community Education Program for 1977. Ayes, Kramer, Erickson, Novak, Latch, Hallberg, Schnirring, Trautmann; Nayes, Fischer. Carried. Moved by Councilman Kramer, seconded by Councilman Novak to reduce the proposed Dog Catcher's Budget by $4,255 realizing that with the new program proposals for 1977 if it should cost more than what is budgeted for, the City Council would have to look into Federal Revenue Sharing monies to make up additional costs. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. Moved by Councilman Novak, seconded by Councilman Trautmann to remove $30,000 from the pro- posed budget for the Dutch Elm Disease Program and allocate Federal Revenue Sharing monies in the sum of $30,000 to fund the Dutch Elm Disease Program.
