HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-18-71 844 Hastings, Minnesota, October 18, 1971 The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a regular meeting on Monday, October 18, 1971 at 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall. Members present: Councilmen Novak, Kane, Collins, Hallberg, Wilson, Christenson and Mayor Rotty. r I Members absent: Councilmen O'Connor and Driscoll. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Moved by Councilman Wilson, seconded by Counc~l~n Christenson to pass the second reading of an Ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING THE FOLLOWING REAL ESTATE TO THE CITY OF HASTINGS PURSUANT TO THE ORDER OF THE MINNESOTA MUNICIPAL COMMISSION": Ayes, all; Nays, none. The East 1/2 of the East 1/2 of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 32, Township 115 North, Range 17 West, Dakota County, Minnesota, containing 40 acres, more or less, according to Government Survey. The City Clerk read a letter from Lawrence Yanz, owner and opera- tor of the "Biers tube" located on Part of Lots 3 & 4, Block 79, Original Town Addition to the City of Hastings withdrawing his request for a variance allowing construction to the building on the above described property. Moved by Councilman Christenson, seconded by Councilman Hallberg to accept the request for withdrawal. Ayes, all; Nays, none. ,~ ,~<::. Moved by Councilman Hallberg, seconded by Councilman Wilson to deny the request of the Hastings Sewing Machine Company for a variance to Section 7.3 "Signs" of the City Zoning Ordinance dated December 7, 1970. r-- Moved by Councilman Kane, seconded by Councilman Collins to table the request for a variance by the Hastings Sewing Machine Company until November 15, 1971 meeting of the City Council. Ayes, all; Nays, none. Moved by Councilman Kane, seconded by Councilman Collins that a Public Hearing be held on Monday, November 15, 1971 at 7:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall to consider the following variance request from the City Zoning Ordinance, and that the following notice be published, mailed and posted as required by the Ordinance: Ayes, all; Nays, none. ,NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE Notice is hereby given tmt the City Council of the City of Hastings will meet in a Pu~lic Hearing on Monday, November 15, 1971 at 7:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall to consider the following: Hastings Sewing Machine Company 220 East Second Street r Application for Variance to Section 7.3 "Signs" in the City Zoning Ordinance. Moved by Councilman Hallberg, seconded by Councilman Christenson that a Public Hearing be held on Monday, November 15, 1971 at 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall and that the following notice be published, mailed and posted as required by the City Zoning Ordinance. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON APPLICATION FOR SPECIAL USE PERMIT D Notice is her~by given that the City Council of the City of Hastings will meet in a Public Hearing on Monday, November 15, 1971 at 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall to consider the following request for a Special Use Permit in accordance with Section 9.4.2 of the City Zoning Ordinance: Special Use Permit to construct a basement apartment in the dwelling on Lot 151, Westwood 4th Section Rep1at.
