HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-17-71 736 Hastings, Minnesota May 17, 1971 The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met i~a regular meeting on Monday, May 17, 1971 at 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall. Members present: Councilmen Novak, Kane, Collins, O'Connor Wilson, Driscoll, Christenson and Mayor Rotty. Members absent: Councilman Hallberg. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. By written request of Donald Carl, his application for a Special Use Permit be withdrawn by a motion by Councilman Driscoll, seconded by Councilman Kane. Ayes, all; Nays, none. Moved by Councilman Collins, seconded by Councilman Wilson to pass the second reading to amend Section 7 of an Ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE LICENSING AND REGULATING THE SALE OF INTOXICATING LIQUORS WITHIN THE CITY OF HASTINGS, DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA, REPEALING INCON- SISTENT ORDINANCES AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF" to delete Memorial Day from Section 7. Ayes, all; Nays, none. Moved by Councilman Christenson, seconded by Councilman Collins to refer to the Planning Commission the request by Paul Reuter for a Special Use Permit to construct a car wash on Lots 3 & 4, Block 8, W. G. LeDuc's Addition to the City of Hastings. Ayes, all; Nays, none. Moved by Councilman Driscoll, seconded by Councilman Novak to grant a leave of absence to Joanne Cobian for seven days beginning May 17, 1971. Ayes, all; Nays, none. Moved by Councilman Driscoll, seconded by Councilman Kane to approve proposed settlement of concrete pipe anti-trust case as out- lined by the City Attorney. Ayes, all; Nays, none. Moved by Councilman Collins, seconded by Councilman Kane to remove from the table the motion concerning parking on Pine Street, 11th to 14th Street placed on the table at the meeting held March 1, 1971. Ayes, Councilmen Novak, Kane, Collins, Wilson, Driscoll and Christenson. Nays, Councilman O'Connor. Moved by Councilman Wilson, seconded by Councilman O'Connor to refer to the Safety Committee the subject of parking on Pine Street, 11th to 14th Street. Ayes, all; Nays, none. Moved by Councilman Kane, seconded by Councilman Collins to remove from the table the motion concerning Lawrence Yanz request to construct an addition to his establishment, The Bierstube, located on Part of Lots 3 & 4, Block 79, Original Town Addition to the City of Hastings, that was placed on the table at the meeting held April 19, 1971. Ayes, all; Nays, none. Moved by Councilman Kane, seconded by Councilman Collins to allow construction of an addition to the Bierstube, as stated in the above motion. Motion withdrawn. Ayes, Councilmen Novak, Kane, Collins, Driscoll and Christenson; Nays, Councilmen O'Connor and Wilson. Motion carried. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota will meet in a Public Hearing in the Council Chambers of the City Hall on Monday, June 21, 1971 at 7:00 o'clock P.M. to consider 737 the following variance request from the City Zoning Ordinance: Variance from Section 9.15 "District Lot Regulations" C-3 Rear Yard Set-backs. r--, Variance request for construction of an addition to the existing building now occupied by the Bierstube, Inc. located on Part of Lots 3 & 4, Block 79, Original Town Addition to the City of Hastings.
