HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-07-70 633 Hastings, Minnesota Dece~ber 7, 1970 The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a regular meeting on December 7, 1970 at 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall. Members present: Councilmen Soleim, Novak, Kane, Hallberg, Christenson, Driscoll, Fischer, Mayer and Mayor Rotty. ,..-- Members absent: None. Councilman Christenson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: BIDS ON AMBULANCE WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for furnishing the City with one (1) new Ambulance, the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: Bahls Motor & Implement $9,429.00 Chevrolet 9,328.63 GMC 9,450.00 10,088.45 Northern S & S Sales, Inc., Minneapolis Freed Chevrolet, Hastings WHEREAS, it appears that Freed Chevrolet is the lowest respon- sible bidder, after inclusion of extras which were a part of the bid submitted by Freed Chevrolet, NOW THERE BE IT RESOLVED By the City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota: r- 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Freed Chevrolet for the purchase of one (1) Ambulance according to the specifications ,therefore approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk. 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, after a contract has been signed. City lerk G~ Moved by Councilman Novak, seconded by Councilman Hallberg that the following amendment to an Ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING V FOR SEWAGE SERVICE CHARGES AGAINAT THE OWNERS OR OCCUPANTS OF PROPERTY NOW OR HEREAFTER CONNECTED WITH THE SEWERAGE SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF HASTINGS" pass its third reading to finally read as follows: Ayes, all; Nays, none. The City Council of the City of Hastings does ordain: r-' Section C: The minimum charge for every sewer connection shall be $8.00 per quarter. Moved by Councilman Driscoll, seconded by Councilman Christenson to pass the second reading of an Or<;1inance entitled "AN ORDINANCE REGULA- TING AND CONTROLLING THE USE OF SNOWMOBILES IN THE CITY OF HASTINGS". as amended. Ayes, all; Nays, none. Moved by Councilman Fischer, seconded by Councilman Hallberg to approve the following partial payment for work performed on the Pump House being constructed under Water Revenue Bonds of 1970. Ayes, all; Nays, none. Richert Plumbing & Heating Co. $23,427.00 Moved by Councilman Fischer, seconded by Councilman Hallberg to pass the first reading to amend an Ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH RULES GOVERNING THE FUNCTIONING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HASTINGS, MINNESOTA". Ayes, all; Nays, none. Amendment to Rule 8: Committees 'j l~ Councilman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION REGARDING ALLOCATION OF FUNDS FOR TENNIS COURTS Councilman Soleim introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: WHEREAS, the City now has a need for additional tennis court facilities in the City; and WHEREAS, the Public School has agreed to participate with the City in the construction of tennis courts on the Junior High School property in Hastings; and WHEREAS, the City is willing to participate in the construction of said facilities to the extent of $10,000., said funds to be provided from the Parks Improvement Sinking Fund; NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved as follows: 1. That the City does hereby agree that it will participate to the extent of $10,000 with Public School District #200 for the con- struction of tennis court facilities on the Junior High School property. [J 2. Further that $10,000. of the funds presently in the Parks Improvement Sinking fund be and hereby is allocated for payment of the City's portion of said work.
