The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a
regular meeting on Monday, March 2, 1970 at 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council
Chambers of the City Hall.
Members present: Councilmen Soleim, Novak, Kane, Hallberg,
Christenson, Driscoll, Fischer and Gunderman.

Mayor Rotty.
Acting Mayor Soleim presiding.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Moved by Councilman Fischer, seconded by Councilman Novak that an
Amendment to Section 6 of "AN ORDINANCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROMOTING HEALTH,
SAFETY, ORDER, CONVENIENCE AND GENERAL WELFARE BY REGULATING THE USE OF LAND,
THE LOCATION, SIZE, USE AND HEIGHT OF BUILDINGS, THE ARRANGEMENT OF BUILDINGS
ON LOTS, THE DENSITY OF POPULATION AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF HASTINGS,
MINNESOTA, ALL IN ACCORDANCE WITH A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN", passed and adopted
August 6, 1956, pass its third reading, zoning the following property to
Residential 3, and finally reads as follows: Ayes, all; Nays, none.
Lots 1 to 14 inclusive, and that portion of Lot A adjacent
to Lots 9 and 10, King Midas Addition, except the North 35
feet of the West 150 feet of Lot 1.
Moved by Councilman Novak, seconded by Councilman Kane that the
Off and On Sale Liquor License of Kenneth Loesch, 2101 Vermillion Street, be
transferred to The On & Off Corporation, 2101 Vermillion Street effective
immediately. Ayes, all; Nays, none.

Moved by Councilman Kane, seconded by Councilman Hallberg to hire
Charlotte Stoudt as a part-time office secretary for the Police Department
at an hourly rate of $2.50, effective March 16, 1970. Ayes, all, Nays, none.
Moved by Councilman Driscoll, seconded by Councilman Gunderman to
approve expenses for Robert Metcalf to attend the Bureau of Narcotics and
Dangerous Drug School in Washington, D.C. on March 16 thru 20, 1970. Ayes,
all, Nays, none.
Moved by Councilman Driscoll, seconded by Councilman Christenson
to approve expenses for Daryl Plath to attend the Police Chief Institute at
the University of Minnesota on March 9 thru 11, 1970. Ayes, all; Nays, none.
Moved by Councilman Christenson, seconded by Councilman Driscoll
to transfer $1,200.00 from the Fire Truck Sinking Fund to the Fire Fund for
purchase of an air compressor for Scott Air Packs. Ayes, all; Nays, none.
Moved by Councilman Fischer, seconded by Councilman Driscoll that
the bills as audited be approved and the City Clerk be instructed to issue
warrants for the same. Ayes, all; Nays, none.
