The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in
a Special Meeting on Wednesday, September 19, 1984 at 7:00 p.m. in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall.
Members Present: Councilmen Karnick, Nesbitt, Klimek, Plan,
Werner, and Mayor Stoffel.
Members Absent: Councilmen Pike, Kulzer, and Trautmann.
The purpose of the meeting was to hold a public hearing to
consider the proposed use of Federal Revenue Sharing Funds to be re-
ceived for calendar year 1985.
Councilman Pike arrived at the meeting at 7:04 p.m.,
Councilman Kulzer arrived at the meeting at 7:06 p.m.
The public hearing was opened by the Mayor at 7:03
p.m. to consider the proposed use of Federal Revenue Sharing
Funds to be received by the City during the calendar year 1985.
The Mayor asked if anyone wished to speak on the issue. Jim
Collins, President of the Hastings Youth Athletic Association,
requested that the Council consider using revenue sharing for
the Vets Complex for the lighting of fields; John Hopkins,
President of the Hastings Hockey Boosters, requested that the
Council consider a meeting room be built at the arena and that
lighting be considered for the Roadside Tennis Courts. Everyone
wishing to speak on the issue was given the opportunity to do so.
The Mayor closed the public hearing at 7:20 p.m.

The Council discussed various allocations for Federal
Revenue Sharing Funds, one of which a suggestion of $30,000 to be
used for the Vets Park Complex for new fields or lighting.
Moved by Councilman Nesbitt, seconded by Councilman ADJOURNMENT
Plan to adjourn the meeting at 7:21 p.m. Ayes, 7; Nayes,
None.
