surplus property and authorize for public sale. Council Action Requested: Declare six DWI and/or criminal seizure forfeiture vehicles surplus property and authorize for public sale.
Background Information: The Hastings Police Department currently has six vehicles that have been obtained through DWI and/or criminal seizure forfeiture proceedings. These vehicles are
now cleared for sale with the proceeds to be applied to the Department's forfeiture account in accordance with Minnesota law. Upon declaration of the vehicles as excess/surplus property,
they will be be made available for public sale via a commercially available online auction service. The following vehicles are to be declared surplus/excess and authorized for sale:
1. 2007 Chevrolet Impala -42,400 miles 2. 2003 Chevrolet Impala -175,700 miles 3. 1996 Linclon Continental -161,800 miles 4. 1995 Hyundai Accent -100,000+ miles (abandoned property after
impound) 5. 2006 Volvo S60 -52,100 miles **Addition 10/01/12** Due to notice a court disposition received late on September 27, 2012, it is requested that the following vehicle also
be declared surplus/excess and authorized for sale: 6. 2000 Ford Super Duty truck -200,000+ miles Financial Impact: No adverse financial impact. Advisory Commission Discussion: N/A Council
