The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a
special reeting on Thursday, Novenber 6, 1980 at 4: 30 p.m. in the Council
Chanbers of the City Hall, which was called by Mayor Petersen for the
purpose of canvassing the election returns from the General Election held
on Tuesday, Novenber 4, 1980
Members present: Councilmen Trautmann, Trutna, Kul:zer, Stoffel,
Shannon, Karnick, Legler, and Mayor Petersen.
Menbers absent:
Councilman Collins.
Councilman Trautmann introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOUJrIoo 00 GENERAL ELECI'ION #68-80
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hastings,
Minnesota:
That the results of the canvass of votes in the several wards of
the City of Hastings, Minnesota, at the General Election held there on
Tuesday, Novenber 4, 1980, and the results of the said election by the City
Council be and the same are declared to be as follows:

BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council finds fran said canvass that
the follcming candidates have received a plurality of votes, and finds that
and declares the follcming candidates to be elected to the offices of said City:
Mayor Lu Ann Stoffel (2 Years)
1st Ward Councilman Edward Karnick (4 Years)
2nd Ward Councilman RDbert Kulzer (4 Years)
3rd Ward Councilman Andrew (Andy) KlirrEk (4 Years)
4th Ward Councilman Richard (Dick) Pike (4 Years)
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby directed to
send certificates of election to the above listed candidates and take their
Oath of Office.
Under MSA 475:.-5t',Cbligat1oos;-;a referendum submitted to the electorate
must receive the approval of a majority of the electors voting on the question.
