Menhers present: Councilmen Trautmann, Trutna, Kulzer, Stoffel, Shannon, Karnick, Collins, I..egler, and Mayor Petersen. Menhers absent: None. 'nle Mayor called for additions or corrections to the minutes of the meeting of August 18, 1980 and hearing none declared the minutes approved as presented. Moved by Councilman Trutna, seconded by CounciJ.man Kulzer to approve a variance request to allON building permit and private access on an unin:proved street at 1114 W. 3rd Street, for James Moore. See Planner's mano dated August 21, 1980. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. Moved by CounciJ.man Kulzer, seconded by CounciJ.man I..egler to call for a public hearing on the vacation of the alley between 11th & 12th Streets and Forest and Walnut Streets. - The hearing to be set for October 6, 1980 at 7: 30 p.m. in the Council Chanbers of the City Hall. APPROVE VARIANCE JAMES AroRE SET PUBLIC HEARING VACATE ALlEY Moved by CounciJ.man Trutna, seconded by CounciJ.man 2ND READIlIG ORD. #113 Karnick to pass the second reading of the ordinance changing the MAYOR AND OOUNCIL canpensation of the Mayor and Council mEmbers. MEmbers of the cx:MPENSATION Ci ty Council fran $100.00 to $200.00 per roonth; Mayor fran $150.00 to $250.00 per m:>nth, effective January 2, 1981. Ayes, 6; Nayes, Kulzer, Collins. Moved by Councilman Stoffel, seconded by Councilman Trutna to adopt resolution #5&:-80 authorizing the amendment to the Joint and Cooperative Agreanent between the City of Hastings and the Suburban Rate Authority. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. Moved by Councilman Shannon, seconded by Councilman Karnick to approve the payment of $2,610.00 to Pine Bend Paving for the work on the Tennis Courts at Roadside Park, but to hold the payment to Quad City Sealers, in the amount of $3, 378.15. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. Moved by Councilman Shannon, seconded by Councilman Trautmann to deny the request for City water service extended to the the .KRf) property on Highway 316. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. Moved by CounciJ.man Trautmann, seconded by Councilman Trutna to approve an hourly increase in salary for Dorothy Johnson, part time secretary for the Police Department. To increase the rate of $4.20 per hour to $4.80 per hour, effective Septerber 1, 1980 . Ayes, 8; Nayes, none.
