HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-05-80 -- -- 238 May 5, 1980 Hastings, Minnesota The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a regular meeting on Monday, May 5, 1980 at 7: 30 P. M. in the Council Chanbers of the City Hall. Menbers present: Coill1cilmen Trautmann, Trutna, Kulzer, Stoffel, Shannon, Karnick, Collins, Legler, and Mayor Petersen. Menbers absent: None. The Mayor called for additions or corrections to the minutes of the meeting of April 21, 1980 and hearing none declared the minutes approved as presented. The Mayor opened the public hearing to consider the PUBLIC HEARING proposal of H.D. Hudson Mfg. Canpany for an Industrial Facilities INDUSTRIAL DE:VEI..mfENT Developnent Project at 7:32 P.M. The legal notices of the PROJECr-HUDSON MFG. Hearing were read into the record by the Administrator. No one appeared for or against the proposal. The Mayor closed the public hearing at 7:35 p.m. Moved by Councilman Stoffel, seconded by Councilman Legler to adopt Resolution #31-80 giving preliminary approval to the Industrial Facilities Developnent proposal of Hudson Mfg. Canpany pursuant to the Minnesota Mill1icipal Industrial Developnent Act, authorizing the submission of an application for approval of said project, to the Commissioner of Securities of the State of Minnesota. Copy of resolution on file in City Hall. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. APPROVE H. D. lIUJ)g()N PROffiSAL Moved by Councilman Legler, seconded by Councilman Karnick to pass the third and final reading of the ordinance amendment to the 1-2 Zoning District classification, adding cannercial recreational facilities as a special use in that district. II'" Moved by Coill1cilman Karnick, seconded by Councilman Trautmann to approve the Special Use Permit for James Weiland, 515 East 3rd Street, to build a racquetball facility. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. APPROVE SPECIAL USE PERMIT WEILAND Moved by Councilman Trutna, seconded by Councilman Kulzer to approve the variance request of Loren Wical, 914 W. 5th Street, to allow an addition to his garage to be 18' fram the property line. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. APPROVE VARIANCE WICAL Moved by Councilman Trutna, seconded by Coill1cilman Shannon to adopt resolution #27-80 which states that a "negative declaration" statement saying that the City does not feel an Environmental Impact Statement is necessary for the proposed River's Edge Developnent at County Road #47 and the Vermillion Ri ver, be published. RESOImION.#27-80 PUBLISH EIS STATEMENT Moved by Councilman Shannon, seconded by Councilman Collins to adopt the resolution awarding the bid for the 1980 Improvanent Program to Pine Bend Paving, in the amount of $184,250.44. Copy of resolution on file. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. RESOwrION #28-80 AWARD BID 1980 IMPROva.mNTS There were no bids submitted to purchase the Spiral Ball Park property fram the City. Moved by Councilman Legler, seconded by Councilman Stoffel to table the sale of the Spiral Ball Park property indefinitely. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. TABLE SALE SPIRAL BALL PARK PROPERTY Moved by Councilman Kulzer, seconded by Councilman Collins to approve the Agreement between the City of Hastings and the Coill1ty of Dakota, covering 1980 Police Dispatching Service for the City.
