The City Council of the City of Hastings,Minnesota met in a special meeting on Monday,
March 10, 1997 at 5:00 p.m. in the Community Room at the Hastings City Hall, 1014th Street East,
Hastings,Minnesota.
Members Present: Councilmember Riveness, Yandrasits, Johnson, Hicks, and Mayor
Werner
Councilmember Moratzka arrived at 5:12 p.m.
Members Absent: Councilmember Simacek
Staff Members Present: Dave Osberg, City Administrator;
Joyce Pruitt,Administrative Assistant/City Clerk;
and Shawn Moynihan, City Attorney
Resolution No.3-5-97,a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Hastings Authorizing the
Continuation of the Planning and Design for Improvements to the Hastings Civic Arena and
Addition of the Second Ice Sheet and Authorizing the Hiring of an Architect and Construction
Manager
Moved by Councilmember Hicks, seconded by Councilmember Riveness to approve
Resolution No. 3-5-97, Resolution of the City Council of the City of Hastings authorizing a
continuation of the planning and design for improvements to the Hastings Civic Arena and addition
of the second ice sheet and authorizing the hiring of an architect and construction manager.
Marty Welch updated the City Council on the Hastings Hockey Boosters Fund Drive Status.
r— Mr. Welch noted $174,000 has been paid and a total of$742,601 has been pledged for gifts.

Moved by Councilmember Moratzka, seconded by Councilmember Riveness to adjourn the
special City Council meeting at 5:12 p.m. 6 Ayes;Nays,None.
