HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-16-81 II rI OJ o m m <( II r- Hastings, Minnesota March 16, 1981 21 The City Council of the City of Hastings ,Minnesota met in a regular lOOeting on Monday, March 16, 1981 at 7:30 P.M. in the Council C11ambers of the Ci ty Hall. Menbers present: Counci1men Legler, Kulzer, Pike, Karnick, TrtItna, Klimek, Bond, and Mayor Stoffel. Menbers absent: Councilman Trautmann. The Mayor called for additions or corrections to the minutes of the meetings of March 2nd and 3rd, 1981 and hearing none declared the minutes approved as read. The Mayor opened the Public Hearing at 7:32 p.m. to consider the construction of Pleasant Drive North fran the intersection of West 4th Street and Pleasant Drive through to C.S.A.H. No. 42. '!be legal notices of the public hearing were read into the record by the City Administrator, the hearing had been properly called. Mr. Dietz, consulting engineer fran Rieke, Carroll, Muller Associates, gave a review of the project, area affected, costs, etc. Everyone was given the opportunity to speak on the project. The Mayor closed the public hearing at 8:08 p.m. Moved by Counci1man Bond, seconded by Councilman Kulzer to pass a resolution approving the Pleasant Drive North Project and authorize the preparation of final plans and specifications for the Project. Moved by Councilman Trutna, seconded by CounciJman Kulzer to approve a variance fran the rear setback requirements in an R-2 roning district for Paul Koppes, 305 Maple St. to allow him to make an addition to his hane consisting of an additional garage stall and an additional roan to his hane. '!he new addition would be 12 feet fran the rear property line, while the requtred rear setback is 35 ft. Ayes, 6; Nayes, Bond. Moved by Councilman Bond, seconded by Councilman Trutna to approve the Minor subdivision at the intersection of Southview Drive and Westview Drive as requested by Art Groth, as presented in the mana fran Paul Burns, City Planner, dated February 26, 1981. Ayes, Karnick, Trutna, Bond; Nayes, Legler, Kulzer, Pike, KliIook. Motion defeated. Moved by .Councilman Kulzer, seconded by Councilman Karnick to table to the April 6, 1981 Council meeting the request for a Minor subdivision by Gerald Frandrup, Jr. Ayes, 7 ; Nayes, none. Moved by Councilman Trutna, seconded by Counci1man Karnick to table to the Council meeting of April 6, 1981 the request of Gerald Schneider, for a Minor subdivision at 1st and State Street. Ayes, 7; Nayes, none. Moved by Councilman Kulzer, seconded by Councilman Pike to adopt the resolution awarding the bid to furnish the Ci ty with one Rescue vehicle for the Fire Department to Pierce Manufacturing, Inc. at the bid price of $35,440.00. Ayes, 6; Nayes, Bond. Moved by Councilman Pike, seconded by Counci1nlu1 Kulzer to accept the resignation of Tim Ernst as a volunteer fireman, effective April 3, 1981. Ayes, 7; Nayes, none.
