MenDers present: Coilllci1men Legler, Kulzer, Trautmann, Pike, Karnick, Trutna, Klimek, Bond, and Mayor Stoffel. MariJers absent: None. '!he Mayor called for additions or corrections to the minutes of the meetings of February 16th, 17th, and 24, 1981 and hearing none declared the minutes approved as read. MNfOOl' addressed the City Coilllcil on the proposal for MN/IXYr TRUCK GARAGE a Truck Garage facility at the Minnesota Veterans Hare, PRO.PCEAL DENIED requesting approval of the proposed plan. Moved by Coilllcilman Trautmann, seconded by Councilman Klimek. to support and allow MN;oor to roodify the laillldry building at the Veterans Hane into a truck garage facility. Ayes, Trautmann, Pike, Klimek.; Nayes, Legler, Kulzer, Karnick, Trutna, Bond. Moved by CoilllciJman Trau1mann, seconded by CoilllciJman Kulzer to approve the hane occupation pennit to allow Kenneth Nowlan, 713 W. 16th St. to conduct a reupholstering business in the basanent of his hare. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. The requests of Paul Koppes and Art Groth, I tEm3 4 and 5 of the Agenda were carried over to a later date. Moved by CounciJroan Legler, seconded by CoilllciJman Trautmann to pass the first reading of the proposed sign ordinance amendments as set forth in the Planner's maoo dated February 26, 1981. Also to call for a Public Hearing on the amendnents for Aprill/t3, 1981 at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chanbers of the City Hall. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. Moved by Councilman Karnick, seconded by Coilllci1man Pike to accept the changes to Hastings' Canprehensi ve Plan as approved by the Planning Ccmnission and to authorize their submittal to the Metropolitan Council, as per the mana fran Paul Burns dated February 26, 1981. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. Moved by Coilllci1man Karilick, seconded by Councilman Trutna to award the bid for crushing 10,000 cubic yards of Class 5 Aggregate to Davies Excavation, Inc. at the bid price of $14,900.00. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. Copy of resolution on file in City Clerk's office. The i tan regarding Al Sieben's property was referred to the Administration Ccmnittee of the City Coilllcil. Mitchell Energy Company, Inc. gave a presentation on their plans to develop the hydropower potential of Mississippi lDck & Dam No.2 in our City. Moved by CounciJman Karnick, seconded by CounciJman Kulzer to order the repair, rehabilitation, or daoolition of the property at 512 E. 7th Street. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. Moved by Coilllci1man Trutna, seconded by Coilllci1.man Pike to approve the appointment of Merle Borcher, Northwestern Bank:, to replace Richard Pike on the Industrial Park Advisory Board, tenn to expire 2-1-82.
