The City COlUlCil of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a regular
rooeting on Monday, February 2, 1981 at 7: 30 P. M. in the Council Chambers of
the City Hall.
Menbers present: Councilmen Legler, Kulzer, Trautmann, Karnick,
Trutna, Kl~, and Mayor Stoffel.
Members absent: Counci~ Pike.
The Mayor called for additions or corrections to the minutes of the
rooeting of January 19, 1981 and hearing DOne declared the minutes approved as
presented.
Moved by Councilman Legler, seconded by CounciJ.man
Kulzer to approve a hane occupation pennit for Duane Christensen
1154 W. 14th Street, to operate a part-time business repairing
fishing tackle, fishing rods, and reels, in his hane. Ayes, 6;
Nayes, none.
Moved by Councilman Legler , seconded by Councilman
Kulzer to approve the Levee "Park proposal as submitted by the
Historical Preservation CaImi:se-iori.The Council agrees to name
the Levee area "Veterans Maivrialt.evee" to approve the aIIDunt
of V , ()()O for a flag pole, and also to assist the volunteer group
wi thCi ty labor and machinery in doing sane minor grading.

Kulzer to pass the third and final reading of the ordinance
licensing General Contractors.
Moved by CounciJ.man Legler, seconded by CounciJrnan
Klimek to table the 3rd reading of the ordinance licensing
General Contractors to the meeting of February 17, 1981.

The Council and the Cable T. V. Advisory Carmi ttee
will have a joint rooeting on February 17, 1981 at 6:30 P.M. to
discuss the franchising procedure.
Moved by CounciJ.man Legler, seconded by Councilman
Karnick to authorize the City Engineer to prepare bid speci~i-
cations and advertisanent for bids for crushing 10,000 yards
of lime rock for the City. Ayes, 6; Nayes, none.
Moved by Councilman Trautmann, seconded by Councilman
Kulzer to refer the issue of elected officials sitting on the
Industrial Park Advisory Board as allvoting maIi:>er, to the
Industrial Park Advisory Board for a recrnmendation. Ayes, 6;
Nayes, Legler.
Moved by Counci1nwl Karnick, seconded by Counci1nwl
Legler to not ratify the Mayor's Administraltion Cannittee
appointments. Ayes, Legler, Kulzer, Karnick, Trutna; Nayes,
