HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-01-82 \ ~ m o m m ~ I ----- Hastings, Minnesota March 1, 1982 113 The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a regular meeting on Monday, March 1, 1982 at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall. Members present: Councilmen Legler, Kulzer, Trautmann, Pike, Karnick, Trutna, Klimek, Bond and Mayor Stoffel. Members absent: None. The Mayor called for additions or corrections to the minutes of the meeting of February 16, 1982. It was noted that a letter from the City of Cottage Grove Public Safety Department dated February 7, 1982 complimenting the actions of Assistant Fire Chief Jerry Rosendahl during a recent emergency situation be placed in his personnel file. The minutes were approved as corrected. Moved by Councilman Trautmann, seconded by Councilman RESOLUTION #6-82 Klimek to pass a resolution awarding the bid for 3 squad cars for AWARD BID POLICE the Police Department to Gilfillan Ford-Mercury, the second lowest SQUAD CARS bidder, in the amount of $28,032.00. Ayes, Trautmann, Pike, Klimek, Bond, Stoffel; Nayes, Legler, Kulzer, Karnick, Trutna. Resolution on file. Motion passes. Moved by Councilman Kulzer, seconded by Councilman Pike to approve the Home Occupation Permit for a publication office at 649 W. 3rd Street for Pamela Thorsen. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. Moved by Councilman Legler, seconded by Councilman Bond to refer the Front Setback Variance request by The Gift Tree at 1266 W. Hwy 55 for an addition, to the Planning Committee of the Council for recommendation. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. Moved by Councilman Trautmann, seconded by Councilman Klimek to authorize the Acting City Administrator to enter into a contract Agreement with Mr. Victor Wilcox, President of Super- Skate Inc. and the City of Hastings for a rollerskating business at the Hastings Ice Arena for the summer months of 1982. A copy of the contract is on file in the office of the City Clerk. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. Moved by Councilman Trautmann, seconded by Councilman Kulzer to approve the following appointments to the Planning Commission, which would be effective at the March 8, 1982 Planning Commission Meeting. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. Nick Conzemius - Two-year Term Brooks Swanson - Two-year Term John Anderson - One-year Term Moved by Councilman Trautmann, seconded by Councilman Bond to approve the following Natural Resource and Recreation Commission appointments, effective at the next regular Natural Resource and Recreation Meeting. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none. Wayne Beckwith Two-year Term Stanley Wood Two-year Term Kristine Schmitz- One-year Term Moved by Councilman Trutna, seconded by Councilman Kulzer to approve the intent to enter into an Agreement with the Corps of Engineers for the improvement of blacktopping the parking lot within the area of Lake Rebecca. Ayes, 7; Nayes, Karnick. Moved by Councilman Trutna, seconded by Councilman Bond to accept the resignation of the following volunteer firefighters. Ayes, 8; Nayes, none.
