HomeMy WebLinkAbout20120618 - VI-10 Council Action Requested: In follow up to Public Works Director Tom Montgomery’s memo from the June 4th Council meeting is Change Order #1 for the 2012 Infrastructure Improvements Project. This change order deletes certain storm sewer items and adds new items in their place to accommodate plan revisions required to avoid a conflict of space with a sanitary sewer main line as well as sewer and water service lines on Ashland Street. Background Information: Earlier in the month on Ashland Street, the contractor encountered a utility conflict with a sanitary sewer crossing when installing the new 48 inch diameter storm sewer trunk main. To resolve this conflict, the last 400 ft. of 48” diameter pipe (not yet installed) needs to be replaced with arch pipe (wider and shorter than round pipe) to get under the sewer and all of the sewer services. Financial Impact: Thus far, the estimated total impact of change orders for this contract project to an increase in construction expenses of $73,225.00, or about 3.42% of the original contract value.
