City Council Minutes
March 21, 2005
The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a regular meeting on
Monday, March 21,2005 at 7:00 p.m., in the City Hall Council Chambers at Hastings City
Hall, 101 East 4th Street, Hastings, Minnesota.
Members Present:
Mayor Werner, Councilmembers Alongi, Hazlet, Hicks,
Moratzka, Riveness
Councilmember Schultz
Assistant City Administrator Melanie Mesko lee, Associate
Planner Kris Jenson

Approval of Minutes
Mayor Werner asked ifthere were any corrections or additions to the minutes of the
regular meeting of March 7, 2005. Hearing none, the minutes were approved as
presented.
Consent Agenda
Moved by Councilmember Hicks seconded by Councilmember Hazlet to approve the
Consent Agenda as presented.

Award of Contract-LeDuc Mansion Parking Lot
Staff recommended that a contract in the amount of $98,196.45 be awarded to
Midwest Asphalt.
Moved by Councilmember Hicks, seconded by Councilmember Moratzka to award
the contracts as recommended.

Public Hearing-Rezoning 2005-15: R-2 to RMU at 401 Ramsey Street
Mayor Werner opened the public hearing at 7:02 p.m.
Associate Planner Jenson gave a brief overview of the rezoning request. Jenson
stated that this property has operated as a medium density residential use for at least 20
years and that the Planning Commission recommends approval.
Tom Johnson, one of the new owners, spoke and said that it is their intention to
continue to operate the property in a high quality manner.
Hearing no further comments, Mayor Werner closed the public hearing at 7:04 p.m.
Second Reading/Ordinance Amendment-Rezoning 2005-15: R-2 to RMU at 401
Ramsey Street
Moved by Councilmember Hicks, seconded by Councilmember Riveness to
approve the rezoning as requested.
6 Ayes; Nays, none.
Copy of ordinance on file.
Resolution-Variance #2005-16: Architectural Standards at Hastings Ford (3625
Vermillion Street)
Moved by Councilmember Alongi, seconded by Councilmember Riveness to table
this issue to the April 4, 2005 City Council meeting.
6 Ayes, Nays, none.
Adjournment
Moved by Councilmember Riveness; seconded by Councilmember Hazlet to adjourn
the meeting at 7:05 p.m.
