Council Action Requested: Accept and approve proposal for modification to Hastings Civic Area -West Rink Background Information: In the west rink of the Hastings Civic Arena, the dehumidification
unit currently does not have the necessary impact to keep the moisture at an acceptable level. The west rink is experiencing moisture on the ceiling which drips water onto the ice surface
and causes deterioration and discoloration of the ceiling due to lack of dry air flow. This proposal before the City Council is to fabricate and fasten piping from our existing unit
extending 82' from the unit almost covering the rink which will increase air flow to the oppisite side of the dehumidification unit/rink. In turn, this will greatly circulate dry air
throught the rink that will minimize moisture. Financial Impact: In the 2011 budget, $20,000 was set aside for this project. The project bid price from American Industrial Refrigeration
is $18,254. Advisory Commission Discussion: None Council Committee Discussion: The Committee of Council has not met to discuss this issue Attachments: • Two bids from mechanical companies
