HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-16-94Hastings, Mnnesota May 16, 1994 The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a regular meeting on Monday, May 16, 1994 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 101 4th Street East, Hastings, Minnesota. Members Present: Councilmember Johnson, Sima ek, Trautr. a n, Hicks, Warner, Riveness and Mayor Verner Members Absent: bone Staff Members Present: Dave Osberg, City Administrator; Barb Thompson, City Clerk; Mike Wozniak, Connnunity Development Director; May McNamara, Parks & recreation Director; Nick Wasylik, Police Chief; and Shawn Moynihan, City Attorney Parks Director Marty McNamara introduced Laura Scott, Advisory to the High -School Students who were recognized for their contribution to the Recycling Program.. Mayon Werner signed a Proclamation to designate the w eek of May 1 - 21, 1994 as Emergency Medical Services Week. Copy of Proclamation on file in the City Clerk's office. Mayor Wexner asked if there were any corrections or additions to the minutes of the regular meeting of May 2, 1994, and hearing none declared the min utes approved as presented. ATTEST Mayor City Clerk Hastings, Minnesota May 16, 1994 The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota net in a closed door meeting on Monday, May 16, 1994 at 9:10 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 101 4th Street East, Hastings, Minnesota to discuss labor contract negotiations with the Police officers and Police Supervisors, and also the Firefighters. Members Present: Couneilmember Johnson, Simaeel , Trautmann, Hicks, Warner, iveness and Mayor Werner Members Absent; None Staff Members Present: Dave Osberg, City Administrator and Barb Thompson, City Clerk Dave Osberg informed the City Council that the Police Urdon has accepted the last offer and asked ed the City Council to authorize proceeding with the preparation, finalization and signing of the 1994 , 1995 Police Supervisors and Police officers Union Contract. City Administrator Osberg discussed the arbitration scheduled for May 23, 1994 regarding the Firefighters Contract. Osberg asked the City Council for authorization to offer a 2% increase for 1993 plus a lwnp sum not to exceed $500. The City Council authorized him to proceed as stated in each of these negotiations.
