Citizens, organizations, businesses and agencies can turn their concern into action by registering their willingness to assist local military and their families during times of deployment at htt : w ww-militaryfamflies.state.m n,u r contacting the community initiative. If you're a military family member, frequent this site for community organizations and businesses or contact the community initiative. All registered organizations and businesses are willing ano eager to provide volunteer nd r discounted services to assist you while your loved one is deployed. If you're a co mmunity organization or business member, thank you for caring for our military families. Registering your willingness to provide volunteer services and/or discounted services is a great act of kindness. In the tradition of the geed people of Minnesota, you are demonstrating your support for our local military r familie in a tangible way. Some of the local activities that we are participating in are: Minnesota FdShare begins March 1" Donations to Halting Family Service will receive a proportional match by Minnesota Fdhare and the Feinstein 1 Million Dollar Challenge to Fight Hungers Hastings Family Service can purchase food thorough Second Harvest Heartland for $.12 cents per pound. For every $50-00 you donate, HFS can purchase 400 lbs of food. Is able to feed and empower families in crisis. HF is collaborating partner with Beyond the Yellow Ribbon. March 6 t ", Sunday, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser, Farmington American Legion. $10 for adults, for kids -1 and senior citizens, and children age 5 and younger eat for free. Tickets are available at the door. Proceeds from this event will benefit Farmington's warrior to Citizen Campaign, which provides support to the community'rs military men and women and families, through events, programs, and on -going training. March 7 Monday, 6 p.m., Free Monthly Veteran Dinner, Bible Baptist Church, 22120 Denmark Avenue, Farmington. Veterans welcome to share a home cooked meal hosted by area churches. Manorial Day honors Americans who died in all wars. Graves will be decorated with Bronze Star markers and U.S. Flags. Hastings Memorial Day Observances will begin with a flag ce remony at the Minnesota veterans Home, 1200 E. 18 1h Street at 9 a.m.,, followed by a 10 a.m. program at Roadside Park, approximately 20 minutes after the Roadside program, two additional short ceremonies will follow in sequence at Soldiers and Sailors Cemetery on West First Street and Ninning r Road and at the Levee veterans Memorial On Ramsey and First Streets.
