This initiative represents an outpouring of concern for Minnesota's military families. Citizens,
organizations, businesses and agencies can turn their concern into action by registering their willingness
to assist local military and their families during times of deployment at

If you're a military family member, frequent this site for community organizations and businesses or
contact the community initiative. All registered organizations and businesses are willing ano eager to
provide volunteer nd r discounted services to assist you while your loved one is deployed.
If you're a co mmunity organization or business member, thank you for caring for our military families.
Registering your willingness to provide volunteer services and/or discounted services is a great act of
kindness. In the tradition of the geed people of Minnesota, you are demonstrating your support for our
local military r familie in a tangible way. This means a let to them knowing their community truly cares b

Minnesota FdShare begins March 1" Donations to Halting Family Service will receive a proportional
match by Minnesota Fdhare and the Feinstein 1 Million Dollar Challenge to Fight Hungers Hastings
Family Service can purchase food thorough Second Harvest Heartland for $.12 cents per pound. For every
$50-00 you donate, HFS can purchase 400 lbs of food. Is able to feed and empower families in crisis. HF
is collaborating partner with Beyond the Yellow Ribbon.
March 6 t ", Sunday, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser, Farmington American Legion. $10 for
adults, for kids -1 and senior citizens, and children age 5 and younger eat for free. Tickets are
available at the door. Proceeds from this event will benefit Farmington's warrior to Citizen Campaign,
which provides support to the community'rs military men and women and families, through events,
programs, and on -going training.
March 7 Monday, 6 p.m., Free Monthly Veteran Dinner, Bible Baptist Church, 22120 Denmark Avenue,
Farmington. Veterans welcome to share a home cooked meal hosted by area churches. Cone and meet

April 1st, Friday, 11 :22 a.m., Pizza Party. Hastings High School, about 30 children.
April 8th, Friday, 11:22 a.m. Pizza Party, Hastings Middle School, about 25 children.
April 16th, Saturday, 1-4 p.m., Military Family Picnic, Spring Labe Park Reserve, Schaar's Bluff. The
Hastings High School Military Family Support Group will be hosting the 2nd Annual Military Family Picnic,
rain Or shine. Come enjoy fabulous food, fellowship and fun! This event is sponsored by HHS Military
Family Support Group, Hastings Beyond the Yellow Ribbon, n, United Way Of Hastings and by the Minnesota
Army National Guard. If you are interested in assisting with food preparation, supplying prizes, grilling,

Farmington. This special Luncheon will honor mothers and grandmothers f currently serving
military. r. Pamper stations; prizes and an elegant meal will be hosted by Dakota County Yellow Ribbon
Networks. Come and meet Other mothers and grandmothers and enjoy some pamper time! For further

May 12th, Thursday, 7 p.m., Open Community BTYR Meeting, Nelson Lucking American Legion Post 47.
Members o f the Minnesota Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Youth Tear, to include Operation Military Kids will
provide an o verview Of the Minnesota National Guard Youth Programs. Cathy Wenzel, Executive Officer, Of
Minnesota veterans Family Support has been asked a1 0. This meeting is dedicated t0 our military parents
and youth. Citizens, educators, civic Organizations, and employ re invited.
May 21st, Saturday, 12 p.m., Military Family Picnic, Dakota County Fairgrounds. This is a special picnic to
honor military families. Children's sports camp,, free picnic lunch, military and public safety vehicles,
climbing walls and other events will be offered. Hosted by Dakota County Yellow Ribbon networks. For

May 28 thr'u Oct 29, every two weeks, ■ 00 p.m- 9.00 p.m., Hastings Historic Saturday Night Cruise -In,
Saturday Night Cruise -ins are Open to all cars 1976 and older. There will be sponsor giveaways, special
nightly vendors and more. This free evert is a great Opportunity t0 see classic, muscle, hot rods, custom

May 30 Monday, Memorial Day. Manorial Day honors Americans who died in all wars. Graves will be
decorated with Bronze Star markers and U.S. Flags. Hastings Memorial Day Observances will begin with a
flag ce remony at the Minnesota veterans Home, 1200 E. 18 1h Street at 9 a.m.,, followed by a 10 a.m.
program at Roadside Park, approximately 20 minutes after the Roadside program, two additional short
ceremonies will follow in sequence at Soldiers and Sailors Cemetery on West First Street and Ninning r
Road and at the Levee veterans Memorial On Ramsey and First Streets. A National moment of
remembrance will take place at 3 p.m.

families. The commitment and sacrifices you make for our country is rhy we are proud to serge you. The
YMCA offers year -round programs and activities., members receive special discounts, but you do not need

Executive Director Jiro Sullivan recognized Tim 'Brin, of Hastings Green Mill and Restaurant and Bar at
the United Way of Hastings Volunteer Recognition and campaign celebration, for special services with the
Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve "Buren Seals" Award. This award recognizes those who
support our Guard and Reserve members thorough other means than employment.
