WHEREAS, Bob Hollenbeck first became involved with the City of Hastings'
Housing and Redevelopment Authority in February 2000; and
WHEREAS, Bob's contributions to the City continued to grow as he also became a member of the
Economic Development Commission in 2002. He remained a commissioner until 2009 when the
HRA and EDC were reformed into the Hastings Economic Development and
Redevelopment Authority, on which he continues to serves; and
WHEREAS, Bob has also lent his skills and expertise by serving the community as a member of the
Hastings Bridge Coalition, the 2030 Comprehensive Planning Committee, several different Levee Park
Redevelopment Committees, the Hastings Bridge Visual Quality Team, and has been instrumental
in improving the safety of mix-use buildings throughout the city; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, Bob has shown dedication and commitment to the City of Hastings
through his involvement with a variety of community events such as Rivertown Days and
the Historic Hastings Saturday Night Cruise-ins; and
WHEREAS, Bob has also been a local business and property owner, an active member of the
Downtown Business Association, and in 2008, was named the Volunteer of the Year
by the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Hastings on this
3' day of January, 2011 that Bob Hollenbeck is hereby recognized and
thanked for his years of dedicated service and commitment to the City of Hastings.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Monday, January 3, 2011 is hereby declared as
"Bob Hollenbeck Day" in the City of Hastings.
