HomeMy WebLinkAbout20101115 - VI-10To: Mayor Hicks and City Councilmembers From: Tom Montgomery Date: November 10, 2010 Re: Resolution — Order Feasibility Study for the North Frontage Road Council Action Requested: Council is requested to adopt the enclosed resolution order a Feasibility Study for the reconstruction of the North Frontage Road from Pleasant Drive to 230 feet to the west. This Feasibility Study would be included as part of the proposed 2011 Infrastructure Improvements Feasibility Study. Background Information: This short section of the North Frontage Road that connects the Dakota County campus access to Pleasant Drive was overlooked when preparing the list of streets proposed for the 2011 Infrastructure Improvement Program. Council is requested to include this section of the North Frontage Road with the previously ordered Whispering Lane and Whispering Court feasibility studies. Financial Impact: All projects proposed for the 2011 Infrastructure Improvement Program will be subject to the $3.5 million bonding ceiling budgeted. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HASTINGS AS FOLLOWS; that the reconstruction of the North Frontage Road from Pleasant Drive to 230 ft. to the west is hereby referred to the City Engineer for study and he is instructed to report to the City Council with all convenient speed, advising the Council in a preliminary way as to whether the proposed improvement is feasible and as to whether they would be made as proposed or in connection with some other improvements, and the estimated cost of the improvements as recommended.
