The only stipulation we have is that the food and beverage be healthful (not necessarily carrots, celery and water, but definitely not doughnuts and Mountain Dew). We’ll fund it to the full $500 level. We can reimburse you for expenses or you can have us billed directly (Dan Patterson, Office of Planning, 14955 Galaxie Ave., Apple Valley, MN 55124). We can’t, however, cut you a $500 check up front. Let me know how you’d like to handle the billing. We also would like a shout-out here and there for Active Living Dakota County (funded by Blue Cross Blue Shield) if possible, but it’s not specifically required – I can get you a logo if you can get it on printed material. Hastings Parks & th Recreation, Hastings Police, and the National Park Service will be teaching both adults and children steps of conducting a pre-ride check, standard ride maneuvers, proper signals and traffic laws. During City Cycle, participants will learn great tips from Hastings Police and a Park Ranger from the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area for cycling both before and during their ride. Once bikes are adjusted, riders are encouraged to ride along on a family friendly trail ride to explore a portion of the City of Hastings trails. This event is free and riders will also receive a goodie bag with coupons and other information. Limited bikes will be available for free use. City Cycle is designed to teach adults and children safe riding skills and expose them to Hastings trails that are safe for bicycle use. These efforts are to increase bicycling in the community. City Cycle would use the ALDC funding for: Pre-event Promotion - Participation Giveaways - Educational Materials - Food / Beverage during event - Look forward to hearing from you soon, JARED FLEWELLEN Hastings Parks and Recreation - Recreation Coordinator 920 West 10th Street Hastings , MN 55033 Phone: 651-480-6181 Fax: 651-437-5396 “Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.” -- A., softball player Find us on Facebook!
